I mean I thought they were synthetic leather not real animal leather

I just did a quick check

†Leather appointed seats are a combination of genuine and artificial leather and are not wholly leather.

The highest marginal tax rate for income earners is over 50%. And it takes effect at much lower incomes than other comparable countries.

I'm interested which countries?

he’s been in parliament for like 50 years, she’d been in for like 1

if he acted like she did he also would have been blasted, same as bananaby joyce when he was the class nutter for a bit, same as pauline hanson when she was the class nutter for a while

you can posit some conspiracy theory or from my experience crazy politicians who do a lot of crazy things in a short time period will draw attention (just like how we’re talking about katter now)

great! then why are you here?

please let the adults in the room have a discussion

So a pretty general article but this part stood out to me:

in vintage Lambie style she warned him not to "suck up".

"[America] need[s] Australia more than what we need them, and they need our critical minerals. So, if Trump wants to play with Australia, I suggest you start getting your cowboy hats on," Lambie said.

"… Don't play bloody Trump's bluff. Don't play it. You don't move Albo. Don't you move on him. Don't you dare. Don't suck up."

Why does she think they rely on us more than them?

Average Australian has an iphone, uses facebook/instagram/whatsapp/facebook messenger/marketplace, google, gmail and youtube, and all its services along with Apple/Microsoft, most corporates are damn near 100% Microsoft, Microsoft Windows on Microsoft laptops with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Edge and MIcrosoft Office365, all our movies are American, all our top hit singles in music are American, TV shows, netflix, Food with McDonalds, KFC, products with Amazon, Amazon prime etc Walk around a shopping centre and count the NBA/NFL/American tshirts

Why does she think Americans rely on us more than us on them? We are deeply embedded in America at this point

Trump will negotiate a peace deal with Putin without involving Ukraine and Europe, and Ukraine will make significant concessions to satisfy the Russians. That has been the message from the American administration over the last few days.

In this video I discuss what it says about Trump's understanding of the war, and why the plan is bound to fail. The really interesting question is therefore not what Trump says he will do now, but what he will do when it doesn't work.

In addition to loosening fiscal rules, Von der Leyen said she would also set out a "wider package" of measures to boost spending tailor-made for each of the 27 capitals linked to their level of defense spending.

"Now is the time to move mountains in the European Union," said the ex-German defense minister.

It has taken 3 years but we might FINALLY be seeing Europe stand up for itself!

We are ready to enhance our support for Ukraine. We are committed to its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russia’s war of aggression.

We share the goal to keep supporting Ukraine until a just, comprehensive and lasting peace is reached. A peace that guarantees the interest of Ukraine and our own.

We are looking forward to discussing the way ahead together with our American allies. Our shared objectives should be to put Ukraine in a position of strength. Ukraine and Europe must be part of any negotiations. Ukraine should be provided with strong security guarantees. A just and lasting peace in Ukraine is a necessary condition for a strong transatlantic security.

We recall that the security of the European continent is our common responsibility. We are therefore working together to strengthen our collective defense capabilities.
