Guys, gals and nonbinary pals
True. This is Mojang. A studio that has been a subsidary of a megacorporation worth trillions of dollars for a good 9 years. The creators of a game that is over 14 years old and still going strong, an IP worth BILLIONS of dollars… and they keep carrying on like they’re still an indie studio, going in mere months from several exciting mega-updates that completely upend the gameplay to 2 flops that we had to wait an absurdly long time for each, for how little they added compared to the updates that immediately preceded them. And used the second-decimal revisions of those to sneak in a few rule changes that enshittify the multiplayer experience with fuck-all input from the community.
It has been [0] years since the last escalation of this frozen conflict.
Basically, imagine there’s this very ancient and proud family that once came to own a really old and historic mansion estate that had been flipped and rebuilt countless times and seen many other owners come and go. They flip it and really, really love the new DIY house they themselves had built on it, and it comes to mean a lot to them over the next few generations. But then, one day a war happens, and their home is so severely damaged that the clan now has no choice but to strike out in separate directions and seek residence elsewhere. However, they later find that they are not welcome in their new home neighborhoods, and are often even chased out by angry mobs, or even murdered by them. Then one day, contempt and distrust of their particular clan gets so extreme that a very violent, evil and feared gang with a lot of pent-up hatred for the family takes control of most of the neighborhoods the members of this ancient clan now live in and starts brutally taking them out back and shooting them. When the thugs finally get busted and rounded up by authorities, said authorities let slip to a few of the surviving clan members that their original estate’s house still existed and had long since been repaired and nursed back to health, mistakenly telling them that it’s on the market once again. Desperate just to make ends meet and put their lives back together, the surviving family members immediately believe these rumors and scramble to their old house, eager to finally have their ancestors’ home back. But then they are in for a rude awakening when they find out that their ancestors’ house was not only not for sale, but that its new occupants had been living and making it there for a very, very long time in their absence. Feeling lied to and enraged, they go full psycho and seize control of the lawn and land around the house, threateningly surrounding it armed with clubs and torches and pitchforks and ready to try and forcibly get the new homeowners who rightfully bought and fixed their old house to leave through any means necessary. Meanwhile, everyone around them starts tearing each other new buttholes over what to do with the two now-warring clans.
“Perhaps some would call on us to point out the obvious moral hypocrisy of those far-left Americans who bandy about terms like “war criminal” while turning a blind eye to what amounts to an unconscionable war crime on the part of Hamas. But we are also not going to do that. Why? Because people will get angry with us—extremely irritating people, to be clear—and we just don’t want to deal with it.”
Ah yes, the tankies. There are even reports of them doing the same thing but for throwing around “imperialism” while turning a blind eye to Russian expansionism not only in Ukraine, but also often fantasizing about coming for Alaska next. (But knowing tankies I wouldn’t at all put it past them to support an invasion of “the imperial coreTM” to own the “ameritardsTM”)
Please don’t give him any ideas
If by “them” you mean lemmygrad and hexbear users, then yes. They ban all who don’t agree 100% with their stupid takes on any given issue.
If by “them” you mean Palestinians in regards to the actions of hamas, if you’d bothered to see my comment history you’d see that I’ve only ever spoken out AGAINST people who actually believe or are arguing that.
And in protests too. Yesterday at my college campus I saw people at a rally praising Hamas’ war criminals (rather than, oh idk just protest the plight of ordinary palestinians as a result of the ongoing, misplaced retaliation; both governments involved in this shit suck, and simping either of them does nobody a favor). They also yelled at a few Jewish students
Circle theory is real
I’ve actually once seen a tankie scream something about how the “imperial coreTM” (America) allows gay marriage, codifying Obergefell into law last year just in case SCOTUS and some red-state AG decide it needs to go and make a serious attempt at it. Some of them actually do think it’s “capitalistic degeneracy”
Amen to the mod part! Shows just what forum admins actually caring about said forum’s community can do for it
Idk about many of the people here, but I’m glad to see copper finally getting some much-overdue love, right now it just fills our chests since we can’t even make beacons with it. I’m most excited about the autocrafters, I can’t believe they actually made an old childhood dream of mine a real thing. Can’t wait to finally make 100%-automated dried kelp factories that can continuously refuel themselves at an ever-increasing rate, paper mills, iron block farms, sawmills, slime and (if I can figure out how to grab the 4 empty bottles to be taken back to the dispensers) honey farms that automatically produce the blocks needed for airships, and gold farms that make the ingots and blocks for you.
I also find the new wind-blaze thing interesting, curious to see what more they’ll do with that one.
That being said I do really hope that they surprise us with more content in this update than just all of that, like they did with the sakura biomes. This is all a great start, but I really hope they aren’t lazy again like with 1.20; maybe finally add palm trees? And they better at least make wolf armor enchantable; don’t make me regret having the armadillo as my second-favorite after the crab
