Oh.

I thought it was some kind of slang, and I just wasn't young and hip enough to get it.

I really appreciate all your efforts to bring content to the community!

Tagging gives people who could get fired the option to have the content blurred until they click it.

We try not to be judgemental assholes here, but plenty of our bosses are judgemental assholes.

That's why the tag is "Not Safe for Work".

It is more generous to err on the side of caution.

It also result in more reach, because the other option available to folks with shitty bosses is just to block users and instances that don't tag things.

I.e. I've blocked everything here with the word "moe" because holy shit those folks have no fucking clue how to tag anything.

"Not Safe for Work" people want to browse at work, and could get fired for having this comic scroll past.

The fact people could get fired for this is total bullshit. But it is what it is. Tagging gives people options.

This isn't about judgement, it's about making spaces for people to enjoy without risking their jobs.

This reminds me of some places that I have lived.

I think we're mostly on the same page, you just can still trust a Democrat, I guess?

Let's extend your analogy, though: the Democrats are shooting too, just not directly at me, at this moment. There's plenty dead at their hands.

I still might rally behind a Democrat to stop an authoritarian, one more fucking time.

And I might not.

We did this dance.

Democrats do not stop the shooting.

I am strongly inclined to trust a total stranger over an established Democrat.

I am not alone in that.

Even if a Democrat cared to save any of us, I do not believe that the Democratic party has the remaining influence to make any difference.

The Maga crowd got something right: the average Democrat politician is spineless, broken and unwilling or unable to disobey orders from a secret cabal of pedophiles.

If we could wake the Maga types up, they might realize the dumb fucks they're worshipping are part of the same pedophile ring.

Through that lens, being the person that knowingly votes for some niche candidate that they know isn't going to win any election against those two, knowing full well that by doing that you're making it that much easier for the Christofascists to scrape out a win and continue pushing this morality horseshit on the people...no, you don't get a pass. Not anymore.

So when do we hold the democrats accountable for being openly detestable, if not when the they've handed the whole country over?

Our only chance at this not getting worse is a likeable candidate. We know democrats are committed to never running one.

What's the answer here?

Yes, the Democratic party running a true populist is the answer sure. We all know that's not going to happen.

The US Democratic plans to continue to eek out loses from the jaws of inevitable victory, and enjoy ongoing campaign funding and unaccountability, as their reward.

This, what we have today, is literally their whole platform. They helped plan this.

When do we hold them accountable for that? Is is still too soon?

Wake the fuck up, and realize YOU ARE WORKING CLASS. THEY ARE RULING CLASS. Stop doing their propaganda for them.

Yep.

This thread is full of folks willing to bet that the spineless overlords will change enough to save them from the openly authoritarian overlords.

It is for any democrat who makes it into significant power, yes. Gotta work within that system for slow gradual improvements that can be easily undone.

Yeah. I'm not sure if that's a free tier thing, or I'm just blockig ads so hard I never noticed...

Perhaps it's just me, but to me this article feels like belittling the problem by not differentiating between "hated" products and "harmful" products.

Exactly!

Hated product? Oh well. My paycheck still cashes.

Harmful product? Oh shit. Sorry boss. I'm still working on that. It's been confusing, but we almost got it. Annnyyyy day now, boss. Pretty sure we will get it on track next sprint. Or the one after. (Source: I once got well paid to "accidentally" kill at least one truly shit-head idea. It probably cost me a pay raise, but I left soon after for more money, and I'm still proud of that every time I reflect back on it.)

When you're the head of the FBI, you should know enough about security to protect your shit.

Yes. These have been... interesting times.

I updated the closet under my stairs again today.

It's too small to be terribly useful, and my house is old enough to need frequent repairs.

So the under stairs closet is for tool storage.

Today I added wall hooks to keep my tool bags off the floor.

I'm trying to convince myself this will magically make me turn the corner and keep this closet responsibly organized. I'm failing.

But not having to bend down too far to pick up my tool bag should be nice.
