Christianity is not inherently better than Islam, it just behaves better nowadays.

And the reason it behaves better is not something inherent to christianity, but because it got dragged, kicking and screaming, into the age of enlightenment and beaten up with education, democratisation and secularisation until it had to bend or break and it's adherents decided to bent.

Islam is still more radical because it faced less opposition to it's ideas from within. The islamic world needs it's own age of enlightenment where radical tensions between religion and an educated public reduce the influence of religion on that public.

And I don't think this has much to do with Islam being younger. Islamic natural philosophers are behind some of the most important discoveries in the sciences and the Islamic Golden Age ended around 200 years, before the Renaissance even started.

If the Islamic Golden Age had not declined, today Christianity might have been the more radical religion and we might have seen a mostly secularized islamic world. It is mostly through chance that history unfolded differently. And with Project 2025 in the US, we might still see a return to barbarism and departure from secular enlightenment in the most powerfull nation puppeteered by christian extremists.

Well the human gut is anoxic too, so that shouldn't be a problem for the gut-bacteria in that log and in the bog mummies. I think it way more likely that the sphagnan and the other tannins in peat-bog-water conserved this as well as the bog bodies.

This does not take into account how the representatives of the christian churches always vote with the christian parties and vice versa, the atheist representative is also a member of a political party and many social organizations depend in their work on the goodwill of the government.

Imho. that's not a problem, politics touches everything so you'll always find political connections of some kind everywhere. But seeing as our neonazi party is gaining momentum, maybe we should think about further reducing political influence, so it doesn't fall into their hands in a worst case scenario. Or we could reduce religious influence, following recent waves of Germans leaving their churches.

Jott, da trieft die Hoffnungslosigkeit wirklich aus jedem Absatz. Ich bin tatsächlich froh dass ich auch gegenüber Rechten noch Mitleid spüren kann, wie kann man denen erklären dass Linke und Rechte oft die gleichen Ziele verfolgen, aber unsere Methoden die einzigen sind die wirklich wirken und gerecht sind?

• Scheiß Stromkonzerne, scheiß Netzregelung - dagegen gibt es linke Konzepte die wirklich wirken, z.B. Genossenschaften.
• Scheiß kapitalistische Ausbeutung der ex-DDR - ja Junge! Da sind wir voll bei dir! Warum verstehst du nicht dass die AfD das noch verschlimmern will?
• Scheiß System - Ja, im großen und Ganzen ja, scheiß kapitalistisches Ausbeutersystem, aber die Lösung ist nicht das ganze Scheißsystem von den Nazis kaputt machen zu lassen, das was die danach aufbauen ist viel schlimmer! Wir wollen auch einen Wandel vom System in dem die strukturschwachen Regionen und die Arbeiter (wie dein Vater) und die armen Leute besser da stehen. Aber es muss auch wirklich ein besseres, ein sozialeres System sein, die AfD macht doch genau den ganzen kapitalistischen Scheiß nur viel viel schlimmer!
• Scheiß Konzernzensur der sozialen Medien - Ja! Genau dafür gibt es das Fediverse! Die Lösung ist nicht irgendwelche Musks da nach oben zu setzen sondern im Gegenteil zu demokratisieren.
• Scheiß Cookiebanner - Genau! Aber die Gesetze ab zu schaffen die ein Opt-In fordern und stattdessen die personenbezogenen Daten einfach frei heraus zu geben ist dafür nicht die richtige Lösung. Stattdessen muss der Do-Not-Track Header einfach standardmäßig gesetzt und von den Webseiten akzeptiert werden.
• Scheiß Banken - Da bin ich voll bei dir! Aber das Problem ist doch nicht irgendeine herbeigefieberte jüdische Bankenverschwörung sondern der Raubtierkapitalismus der die AfD, die FDP und die CxU kauft und dann dafür sorgt dass diese Methoden nicht verboten werden.

Mensch ich sehe immer wieder dass wir so unglaublich viele Dinge über die wir wütend sind mit den Rechten teilen... die sehen in vielerlei Hinsicht viele moderne Probleme genau wie wir. Aber entscheiden sich dann für Lösungen die keine Lösungen sind. Anstatt ihre Wut in eine konstruktive Beschäftigung mit dem Problem zu kanalisieren sind sie lieber einfach nur wütend und konzentrieren diese Wut auf Ausländer, auf Juden, auf Muslime, auf "linke Zecken" und auf alles was irgendwie anders ist. Wieso schaffen wir es nicht die von unseren, von den richtigen Lösungen zu überzeugen? Das regt mich auf!
