Hi all,

I recently purchased the following MacBook Air for £1649:

  • 13 inch
  • M2 chip
  • 8-core CPU
  • 10-core GPU
  • 16-core Neural Engine
  • 16GB unified memory
  • 512GB SSD storage

This came with the £140 Apple gift card.

I was very close to alternatively purchasing the M3 14 inch MacBook Pro with the exact same spec for £1899. I couldn’t make a decision so I decided to go with the Air given the time-sensitive Black Friday Deal.

I’m now wondering if I made a mistake, given the difference in price isn’t huge (£390 with the gift card factored in).

I don’t want to tip over £2,000 so 16GB is my max for the Pro, which is what put me off as I had read that this wouldn't be enough to 'future-proof' it.

I’m currently on a base model 2019 13 inch Pro FYI, so I'm aware either of these models will be a significant upgrade.

I need to use my laptop for sheets, docs, canva, slack, photoshop, video editing and podcasts/music/youtube. I don’t game.

Any advice for me?

Do I stick with the M2 Air, return it for the M3 Pro or consider something else altogether?

TIA.
