Voter suppression is their go-to, so they'll outright ban various groups from voting if they are able to.

Ban non-whites, raise the voting age, require owning land.

I'm not doubting the efficacy of their intel, but I am doubting the accuracy of what they release to the public. They push a ridiculous amount of propaganda and straight-up misinformation.

If their hands truly were tied, they could still show more support for dissenters rather than constantly trying to ignore them or shut them down.

But as you have pointed out, the do have some options.

They should stand down, I think pressing further is a fool's errand. Not much to gain, but a lot to lose.

Why should they protest about something that they agree with?

It's easy to protest something when the government is on your side. And also just pointless virtue signaling.

I don't suspect there is much Russian goods sold in the U.S.

I remember going to buy alcohol some time in the months after Russia began attacks on Ukraine. The liquor store marked the nation of origin on their vodkas and said they had pulled all Russian ones from the shelves.

Not only redundancy, but different types of sensors actually serve different purposes because they excel at different tasks.

The rest of the industry said LIDAR is important and focus on trying to make it more practical.

Volvo is using LIDAR. I trust them way more than Tesla when it comes to something pertaining to safety.
