IMO, she was a bad choice of VP in 2020 during the Black Lives Matter protests over George Floyd's murder. The optics of picking someone who was dubbed "California's top cop" felt like a slap in the face. Whether that moniker was deserved or not, perception often matters more than facts when dealing with what is effectively a popularity contest.

Yeah, it wasn't even the electoral college fucking us. He straight up won, by a significant amount too.

I'm not sure that we are more racist than sexist. We had a black president, who even got elected to 2 terms. We have yet to have a woman.

Either way, awful.

As an American (who voted for Harris), I'm so sorry. I'm absolutely horrified at the outcome of this, and what is happening to Ukraine and Palestine. And what will happen to others even in my own community.

I'm a straight, white, hetero male and will in theory be OK with a Trump presidency. But I take the lessons of history very seriously and voted to help others. I'm deeply ashamed that so many other Americans did not feel the same.

If there's one thing that the American government has made very clear over the last year, it's that no lives matter.

It's good. And the decision to have (or not have) kids is one of the few forms of power that the general population has over those in charge. If people are being squeezed out financially or have no hope for the future (e.g. environmental collapse), they may choose to opt out of reproduction.
