Birthstriking is the biggest middle finger one can possibly give to capitalism and to the corrupt establishment that enforces it through violence. It is the strongest action available to the average person, a direct vote against the future that we are headed towards.

They know this, which is why they are freaking out with tons of propaganda, attacks on education, and erosion of women's rights.

Birth rates below replacement level do present some actual challenges to society. But instead of trying to actually address these issues, they are going for the band-aid of increasing birth rates.

I'm relegated to only riding on designated bike trails because of the hazard. This really means only riding for leisure/exercise, rather than actual transportation.

I love cycling and would be more than happy to help the environment and improve my physical health by cycling to various places within range (including my job), but it's simply too dangerous. One driver looking down at their phone or fucking with their car's touchscreen infotainment could end me in the blink of an eye.

This is more of a "city vs suburb" issue than the difference between 2 adjacent states.

I live within a very reasonable distance of work. But there is literally no safe route to get there. Not even a longer alternate route, just no way to get there without a significantly hazardous stretch of road. Riding that as a one-off would be one thing, but riding it 240 (give or take) round trips per year for years on end are not odds that I am interested in taking.

I would love to cycle to work, which would both help the environment and improve my physical health with some much needed exercise.
