I don't assume that. In fact, I assume that many people will not be convinced by the information.

Like, maybe cook them a killer vegan dish that has them drooling for a week, and offer to teach them how to make it if they’re interested.

That falls under my purview of "presenting information." Those vegan dishes are part of my presentation of information. And of course I'm open to answering good faith questions.

In summary, don’t just present people with the negative aspects of their behavior

It isn't just the negatives of what they are doing. But also the positives of what I am doing.

To be more clear, where the line for me is that I'm not going to tell people what to do (e.g. "don't eat meat") and am not going to get into an argument with them about it. I don't find these strategies effective for me, personally. Others may be able to debate the point more effectively, but I play to my strengths.

Society has collectively decided that people dying from automobiles is a price it's willing to pay. I'm rather resentful of our car-centric infrastructure, but here we are.

Given the general demographics of Reddit, it would just be a bunch of bots left if they did this.

I don't use it for discussion, but for some information/support it is helpful to have a larger community to discuss with. I stay the fuck away from anything that has a hint of controversy though.

Moved here and haven't looked back.

I do keep a Reddit account that is strictly used for informational/support type stuff (i.e. "help me figure out what type of widget I should buy for this task"). I avoid anything controversial on that account.

I would consider the latter to be actual crimes. But I understand your meaning.

This is one of those platitudes that is too vague to be of any real value.

It's like telling someone to be confident. "Just figure out what you need to do and do that thing!"
