It's actually 2x32. My skill issue in finding the exact part in the site. It's fixed now.

Thank you. Glad you like it.

Parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2GWhpK

First computer built from the ground up. I need to replace my Windows 10 laptop that couldn't be upgraded to Windows 11. Purpose: Watch 4K UHD BluRays and local LLM training.

Goals

  • Reuse old chassis in the house. Which means it would be a sleeper build.

  • Buy used, if available and in good condition

  • Watch 4K UHD BluRay

  • Train LLMs locally

  • Use a Linux OS (Ubuntu 24.04 LTS)

Notes

Since I'm not good at drilling, the biggest challenge is ensuring good airflow from the stock chassis. The CPU Cooler is meant to be a Noctua NH-D15. Learned too late that the radiator wouldn't fit; the PSU is in the way. Fortunately, the included NF-A15s could be repurposed as chassis fans, thanks to some cable ties that come with the PSU. One is placed in the side, the other in the front near where the original speaker used to be. These are intake fans.

Outtake fans are two blowers that fit in PCI expansion slots. Some slots are effectively blocked by the M2 slot heat sinks.

The built-in WiFi board has no Linux driver. A USB dongle had to be used instead.

Motherboard is chosen to eventually accommodate an RTX5090, if needed.

These parts are bought used

  • CPU

  • GPU

  • Monitor

  • SSD

  • RAM

  • PSU

  • Motherboard

Barrios underpeformed. Pacquiao overperformed. Manny's still got it, though we won't see him fight like he used to.

So true, the closest that I can find is J-Rock, but Pinoy rock is still distinct and have peculiarities specific to the genre.

Both Pinoy and J-Rock feel authentic. Just a bunch of boys and girls who love to play music.

Wait! I don't mean it to be literal. The moderators abandoned it, but you can still post.

For me, it's SB19 and Until Then.

SB19 learned what they could from the Korean system and took its own Filipino-based identity. They're an example of what Filipinos can do if they study and learn the best parts of foreigners and apply what is sensible to our needs. Frankly, they're more talented than BTS because SB19 can release a larger variety of music.

The storytelling in Until Then (on hold because I don't have time) is impressive up to where I am now (midway? slightly into the second half?) and has a similar polish and quality as visual novels like Steins;Gate and Clannad. The VN format fits perfectly in a Filipino context because Filipinos can create great stories and VNs are not capital-intensive to release.

Yes, let them cook!

Homecooked Filipino meals are so good.

At least ganun ako dati, and I struggle on it from time to time.

Madalas na sabihin na Filipinos have an inferiority complex. Rather, we tend to have simultaneous superiority and inferiority complexes. Or to rephrase, we tend to see ourselves or the country as main characters.

The inferiority complex is reality shattering the initial feelings of superiority or exceptionalism. Napaisip na ako, why are we so engrossed with comparing ourselves with our geographic neighbors? Bakit gutom tayo sa validation?

May point ang looking outside the country to find what needs to be improved within.

Tama nga na instead, we should compare us to ourselves in the past. Are we better than our past selves? Dapat, gusto natin umunlad ang Pilipinas kasi gusto natin sumaya ang buhay ng kapwa Pilipino.

I do, because I believe I'm more than any preconceived stereotypes people have regarding Filipinos.

The parts are beefy. I may want to experiment on building a local LLM someday.

Starting from a mid-90s (Pentium 2 original CPU) PC case, I plan to build a PC designed for high-quality BD/ripped 4K BD playback, paired with an HDR monitor.

What pointers need to be considered?

Dam, son! Where’d you find this?

Episode Three of Mappa Flex: the Animation. Utterly amazing that they pull off movie-quality visuals so far. Would be a shame if they encounter production issues (knowing Mappa, it's a possibility)

Ga-go, ga-go

Knowing Tagalog, I metaphorically spat my drink hearing that 💀

My birthday is September 10. September 11 2001 happened. While I'm not directly affected, it messed me up mentally because I thought I had something to do with it. It didn't help that the year after, I saw Space Shuttle Columbia on the launch pad in what would be its final mission.

I saw the 3-episode premiere. The sexual assault scenes are limited to that episode. You should be fine.
