2-3 hours tops, i've laid on the couch. feeling sorry for myself every day this week for that long. yesterday I spent the time doodling and made some comics that made me feel better about myself. (I really dont understand the post but more people should do art, for agitation)

I see the word abortions in the Wikipedia article a lot, and while I haven't dont the reading to properly understand the topic, there's also mentions of 'fines', imo its comparable to western nations giving tax breaks/ financial incentive to families with x amount of children, abortions are still available in (many) places.

I'd suggest that the one child policy has been greatly blown out of proportion in terms of it's 'big scary bad communist government' propaganda

if you do the work and find more information i'm sure a lot of people here would love to read more about it

that is one hell of a title lol, where does a trans woman lactate from? her sweat glands?

it's just breastmilk all the way down

edit: Yeah this article is trash, it's the telegraph what can we expect? I think discussing this topic is fine and good but maybe post about the research, the hospital statement, just anything thats not this transphobic shit

half way down the article it refers to milk as 'hormone induced secretions', lol, fuck sake, maybe should all be celebrating if cis men could take the load of cis women and breastfeed children 🤣

having such strict and changing demands with zero respect for your down time sounds kinda abusive/ toxic, comrade. regardless of the importance of the work, to set a deadline and then change it is extremely shitty.

in my experience a lot of groups like these have similar problems, it's good to be mindful of them, you need to know when to take a break to avoid burning yourself out.

Something that really frustrates me as a writer is that we spend so much time on our words yet people misinterpret what we say or don’t even bother to read them at all.

🤣 the person who didn't bother to read the bell curve, wow, what a ride

I dont think any of these pass the Bechdel test, I know for sure big lebowski doesn't, I can't even remember dr strange love having any women in it lol

anyway, I think they're all alright

the character still perpetuates negative image of transgender people, the intent of the author is irrelevant.

it's literally an evil man dressing in womans clothing and killing women out of jealously. it's basically the plot of Psycho

it's also heavily suggesting that a doctor is the only person who can determine if someone is transgender, and not the individual themself, which might have been the prominent scientific thought at the time, but it's a slimey feeling now considering how many trans people are gatekept from transition and dismissed because they're faking it

I popped into my lemmy.ml account the other day and saw three buffalo bill 'memes' almost immediately, one was about voting for Biden or getting trump again too, that was lovely

this can't be real right? is there more context for this image?

I know it's a waste of time, but often some of these sensationalist lines aren't mentioned in references listed on wikipedia, and with a little bit of effort you can remove misinformation

I once removed a line from an article stating Stalin killed 10,000 people
