I mean, being a weeb is not synonymous with loli stuff, especially nowadays where anime and manga have become so mainstream.

But I don't believe even for a second the narrative of "now that the good guys are off, reddit has decayed to the point anime fans are clamouring for loli" they already were, since the beginning, it is a constant and unavoidable "issue" (in the sense of controversial) in anime communities, always was and probably always will be.

Heck I remember one of the main mods of r/animemes posting loli on other subs, so it isn't like the people that directed the subs had much problem with it, it was just part of the rules they had to enforce due to multiple reasons (people not wanting to see that, it being a meme community, reddit rules over all, etc)

One of his main talking points it's how we are all living on the matrix and you have to deprogram yourself, of course he sells courses on how to do exactly that!

It is one of those things when scam artists poke at general sentiment but actually their message has 0 substance, similar to when alt righters say that cultural marxists have taken over. It means nothing but they love to play the underdog to some nefarious force, pretending to resist which is the way they use to justify why their ideas are so frowned upon on today's society.

This comment reeks of bad faith.

So you don't care of what pronouns they choose? You literally don't know them irl, you would have 0 information of what their gender is to call them anything but "they" if they don't put their pronouns. Assuming everyone is a man is unhelpful nowadays.

Even if you were a right winger immersed so far in the culture war you are unable to recognize the idea of gender as separate from sex and thus denying people determining their own pronouns, you still wouldn't know what someone is. But if that is frankly your position it would be better you stay away from that place since you would be exactly the kind of people they have to moderate so heavily against

While I do find it funny to have pronouns in a semi-anonymous community, the reason has to do with the community they want to build, especially it being on the progressive side of culture, here is an expert from their mission statement:

As a news aggregator and a social media outlet, with a focus on being a safe and accepting space, we strive to create a positive social impact. We will also help to connect underprivileged and minority individuals with education and civic participation by promoting a healthier online experience.

Aside from that I feel it's common modern internet etiquette to have your pronouns available, and while I do find it funny to have when you are technically anonymous it probably makes communication easier and helps erase the internet bias of thinking every single persin you meet is a man.

Edit: now this was an unexpected turn of events, I didn't expect OP to be this much of an imbecile.

Jokes aside, I quickly scrolled the anime subs I used to frequent (by hot and then top daily and top weekly) and I didn't really see noticeable change, maybe I missed a big discussion that happened during protests since I stopped using reddit since then, but I don't really see what you described.

And before the protests there was already the occasional pro loli post, of course it wasn't a flood that's why I went to check.

Maybe it's something present on smaller subs?

Anime subs are flooded with pervs openly sexualizing children and calling for porn.

So... Pretty much the same as before July 1st /s

Can you block your users from following instances? This looks like a serious problem if it were not possible to regulate.

Common law legislations also have piracy laws? I would rather say it's more of a western kind of affair, since a lot of countries in the east + africa (especially underdeveloped or that only recently developed) have yet to sign international treaties on enforcing piracy law.

Having the law is one thing, but of course most countries that aren't on western europe or North America barely enforce piracy laws. (For example look at the entirety of south america, where official huge bus companies will just play pirated movies on the screens)

Yep, it would give much more control to the user, also it's a feature already present in mastodon (called block domain over there) so it's not a foreign idea to the fediverse.

As thenother user pointed out, I want to block instances, that os why I pointed out the github threat.

Blocking communities has become really easy though, at least from my app I can block them just by seeing a post.

Jaja just noticed the typo, it's curious it took this long for someone to point it out.

Yep, Dragon Ball actually felt like an adventure. Also being inspired by journey to the west, at least in aesthetics and cast, is a huge plus for me.

Og Dragon Ball has so much charm, and it avoids the infinite scaling of power the series would later be known for
