They should know by now what a target rich environment for rubes they are. They should, but they don't. That's what makes them such good targets.

Yep, reliability and popularity. There's still plenty of space for it. But I think piefed has kind of come in and sucked up all the extra oxygen in the room for the moment.

That and conservatives abhor thinking. They need someone or something to defer to. And LLMs can give them all sorts of moderately intelligent bullshit they've come to expect . From their leaders and politicians. But better and faster. With possibly even less accuracy.

Not enough money for big bird. But money to spare for a fascist private jet. Tragic

Something so predictable only a life long Republican would have taken odds against it.

It's global. El Slalvidor, Argentina, the United States, Russia, China, Hungary, etc etc etc. There's a plague of people with more material resources than brain cells. And they will gladly sacrifice us all for just a bit more.

While I would love this personally. I think this is still a bit of a browser support issue Etc. But yes jpeg XL please. Smaller size for similar fidelity as JPEG. Even lossless with transparencies much better sizes than PNG. Though I know there is traction on the PNG side again and they are talking of implementing something other than lzma compression. That's still the future. Jpeg XL is here and now. Not As tied as webp is to a single company Period and not quite as esoteric as avif is.

Somehow i only bumped into this band tonight. But they've been putting out singles since 2023. With their first full album only earlier this year. It's criminal how few views and listens they have at least on you tube. After all who isn't here for a little anti fascist death rock / post punk

LOL as someone with significant autoimmune issues this rings to true.

Absolutely. None of us are immune to propaganda or our own biases.

[–] Eldritch@piefed.world 8 points 2 days ago

Or Marxism and Marxist-leninist.

Say what you will about Democrats. Outside of the elected ones. Most of them don't have a strong ideology. Just actually wanting things to improve. But I'm sure of how to go about it. And when you approach them like that. Are plenty likely to be sympathetic and allies.

Yes, Unity cannot be enforced. Unity can only coexist with consent. And those that would violate consent to enforce Unity actually despise both.

Oh God yes Jubilee and that surrounded bs. Though the recent one with Jordan Peterson was somewhat cathartic. Yeah they get some of the most toxic ones.

Yep the majority of them are more like my brother-in-law or my SO. She at least realized back in February the mistake she made. Though I can understand it. As a military daughter who spent her life going from Base to Base as her father moved them around the world. Republican bullshit is sort of ingrained in her family. And she doesn't actually engage with a lot of the news personally. Instead it gets filtered to her through family.

Brother-in-law came from a privileged bougie family. They own a number of stores in the area. All the fancy tchotchkies as a child. Summers and other regular holidays throughout the year at the lake. Started out from 3rd and thought he made a home run. With a very similar story. Hereditary republicanism. No critical thinking. For One Shining Moment talking about how Democrats and Republicans both suck. On which we could agree. Only to inevitably return back to the Republican talking points. That situation is a whole other shit sandwich unfortunately though.

I don't listen to a lot of the gothic metal. But when i do it is often Mono Inc. And they are back with another solid new EP

Bit of an emotional rollercoaster. Spied a new EP by Covenant! Yay. In memory of Andreas's passing! Shit!

You can never go wrong with surf-goth. A little Deadbolt, Desmond, or Satan's Pilgrims are good every day.

Just stumbled across this band, Definitely liking the vibe so far.

Generally not a fan of growlers. But this cover works for me lol.

Marc Massive and the crew back with a fresh EP. If you like their previous work, this is solid. If you don't know them. Give them a listen.

Glad to see new material coming out! Corpus is always good in my book. The track is a bit more polished and with a harder edge to it than I traditionally associate with them. But it's still solid. 🤟
