I did the last six months of grad school full time with full time work, and despite one period of about 60 days where 9-5 weekend classes meant Saturday and Sundays were taken up so I didn't have a day off for that entire period, I enjoyed it.

However I also recognise that's an insane response and wouldn't ever want anyone to be in a position to need to do that.

Most of Hexbear held your views at one point or another - the Uyghur genocide forced sterilisation was my turning point

On Mao - 70 percent good 30 percent bad

Fair enough - I have never seen a person on Hexbear praise (normal, no covid) China's medical system for example - it's about critical support

Forceful revolution by the workers against the capitalist class is a completely different matter from forceful repression of dissent by the state against students and professors.

So you're pro tanks against capitalists?

impose communism through the use of force to repress dissent.

All societies impose force to repress dissent (other than anarchist communes I guess, where force is mediated by norms)

Are Russian state interests really more secure with an intransigent enemy and failed state along their border

I think the ongoing reluctance of Russia to just shock and awe carpet bomb Ukraine is largely about this.

If I were to guess at their best outcome, the West will give up at some stage and pull the rug out from the Ukrainian administration, Russia will purge the current administration and then try to set up a weak federal state for the remaining territory to try and back into the "international community" good books.
