God I hated all the joke comments that wound up at the top with thousands of upvotes. Just one big circle jerk on many serious topics. I’m sure it’ll still occur in Lemmy to some extent but hopefully the lack of karma will help keep it down.

Truly appreciate all the work you and anyone involved on this app (and lemmy in general of course) are putting in. It’s restoring that loss I’ve been feeling over the whole reddit situation.
I think it’ll take a while for us to know the real overall impact spez’s decision has made on Reddit’s user base. Until then, it’s really just speculation unless something concrete comes out (like financial reports etc).
Ah yep that’s the issue. I’m a big swiper and always tend to over swipe. I frequently accidentally downvote when I mean to upvote due to it.
I don’t have much experience with adguard but have been using 1blocker for years and have been happy with it. It’s of course not system wide ad blocking (it won’t block YouTube ads for example) but it works great in safari.
I love when I come across an app that just really sucks me in and actually excites me when updates are available. I check the test flight app periodically throughout the day to see if memmy got an update and when it does it’s legit exciting for me. So I’m def onboard for starting on the betas!
I need to start up Hogwarts again soon. I’ve been so distracted by other games that it fell on the wayside even though I was loving it.
I feel like the compact mode in general could really use some refining. It just looks kinda loose in a way. I usually prefer compact modes but for now I’m really loving the non compact mode.

Ah as a workaround for now you can simply load your lemmy in browser and mark messages as read. Then restart memmy and it’ll be cleared.
It was made available in the update that was released today. So you’ll need to update the app and then when you launch it after the update you should be presented with it.
