didn't thought I would read neoliberal nonsense in the comments of an antiwork meme

"printing money" is a symptom not the cause

Disconnecting the internet no longer works, you'll need to open a shell and put in a cryptic command to disable the check or use an email address which got banned

The torrent clients I used (flood and qbittorrent) can use the hash directly to import, is this not the case for all?

there are AUR listings which are more prone to break by "design"
in particular any custom kernel or out of tree kernel modules (like Nvidia driver)

the arch linux maintainer keep these in sync so a normal user wouldn't notice any issue (i.e. linux kernel and nvidia driver are rebuilt in tandem) but by using AUR packages you are now in charge of package maintenance

this comment shows how the word of mouth actually distorted the argument

its not the linux philosophy but one sentence of the unix philosophy (linux is not unix)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix_philosophy

Make each program do one thing well. To do a new job, build afresh rather than complicate old programs by adding new "features"

besides being over 40 years old at this point

fun fact the linux kernel would actually not really fit this since it is an monolithic kernel

it might be enough if you adjust the fan curves actually
the stock or "silent" curves on my motherboard are hilariously loud so I tunes them down

unless you overclock your AIO should be enough and Noctua fans aren't that much better as most other fans nowadays
