They had this same problem in the Soviet era, when part of the propaganda was about racist Americans were (true) and how good Marxists aren't (true, but what's that got to do with the average Russian?)

Long story short the African immigrants/students had a hell of a time even when the Soviet state was trying to turn them into a propaganda tool.

Tbf to the Soviets, even the article mentions that they DID try to keep a lid on things, and racial violence exploded after the collapse.

The question should really be why is there so much competition in the timeslot for a dying genre, followed by "who the fuck watches broadcast TV in 2025"
