New Orleans. Brothers Food Mart, 2012. A convenience store that was serving the best fried chicken. So unassuming. So delicious.

There was also another hole-in-the-wall bar that had the best gumbo that we ate after trying Oysters Rockefeller somewhere else.

We’re from Toronto and that trip was years ago but we still speak fondly of the food and the people of New Orleans to this day.

This is it. When they forced us back into the office, it was less about afternoon naps and avoiding traffic. It was more about being able to see my dr that closes at 4pm or taking my elderly parents to their appointments. Cooking dinners to avoid takeout and getting ‘me’ time between zoom calls. They took that away from us. Now it’s 9-5 and not a minute more.

When I finally got a place of my own in my 30s, I kept the shelves stocked with the brightest, sweetest, crunchiest kids cereals. Lucky Charms, Trix, Count Chocula, Golden Grahams. All we were allowed to eat as kids was Corn Flakes and Bran Flakes 🤢

You can be unpopular and still be democratically elected. That's so awful. Gotta fix voter apathy.

I was happy with my Ontario Carbon Rebate cheques. The conservatives really had their way in the media, re-dubbing it "carbon tax" when it was actually a very good program with money back from. I hate how sports reporters have more tenacity than those covering politics.

Death of a parent and managing their assets.

Just never talked about sickness and death. You always assumed they would be around.

Some cultures and religion make end-of-life stuff really difficult on the kids.

Salary and time off.

Benefits are great but are limited. I had $1,000 in 'mental health' spending but my therapist nearly doubled their pricing over 3yrs. That $1,000 once got me 10-12 sessions now only got me 6.

Yeah what's up with these NDP / Jagmeet Singh posts on here lately? It's a two horse race. Jag needs to back off and stop splitting the left vote else Canada will suffer from a Conservative majority.

LOL that's me after my wife and kid shower. Luke warm dribble and I'm a bald guy so I don't have to fuss with washing hair and stuff. My showers are quick.

Is 40gal-50gal normal for a home? Previous owners were an elderly couple. I'm sure it suited them well. But with our family of 3 with laundry and occasional dishwasher running, it seems like it's just slightly not enough. Especially if we're all trying to get ready for an event or have family staying with us.

Maybe I just need to get it serviced... Thanks!
