I've double-checked because I'm not familiar with Microsoft licensing terminology. The extended support end period listed is included without extra cost, it's just limited to security updates only. This is separate from "Extended Security Updates" which is paid for security updates after the support period has ended.

"The Extended Support phase follows Mainstream Support. At the supported service pack level, Extended Support includes [...] Security updates at no additional cost"

When I took a screenshot on the Minimal and emailed it to myself (to view on my laptop), the screenshot was in color.

Just tested this, the colour correction only affects the displayed image on my device, not screenshots

Either I don't have that option or it's buried under a different name/menu path.

Not sure when the ability to add custom mode was added (I'm on android 16), but it's part of the menu that contains bedtime mode, driving mode and DND (edit: custom modes were added in one of the android 15 updates). You could use one of those preset modes and set the display setting for it to grey scale, but I've noticed that colour correction actually has a quick settings toggle, so you could use that with colour correction set to grey scale as a sort of reading mode as well. Here's what my modes menu looks like on my phone:

But you mentioned the colour correction is set to grey scale, isn't that exactly what you want from reading mode? It's also possible to set your display to grey scale in the settings for "modes" so you could create your own mode there called reading mode and change the display settings for that custom mode.

I guess newspapers are probably happy that someone is paying them to publish that stuff but the sovcits could save themselves some money by just printing out their notice and sticking it to the ceiling of a random porta potty, it would have the same effect

A lot of ADHD symptoms are things that people without ADHD will also experience. Those with ADHD will experience some symptoms more frequently and to the point it's impacting your daily life in some way. This also means that people are often dismissive of people's struggles with ADHD because "everyone struggles with [symptom] sometimes".

If you think you might have ADHD, you could fill in the self-report scale, the scoring for is is very basic, but if you have a lot of ticks in the darker boxes, especially if they are towards the higher end, I would suggest looking into the symptoms (from medical sites like the NHS, not just people's own descriptions) and if you think you might have it, look into getting diagnosed. Here's some more links if you want to look into ADHD:

NHS Dorset

Professor Russell Barkley has a lot of informative videos on his YouTube channel

Fair enough, but I think the DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME command you've got now will only work for DXVK, if you launch a game that uses vulkan directly (rather than via translating DirectX calls through DXVK) you might possibly find the game running on the wrong GPU, just bare that in mind

  • For Steam apps, the previous method doesn't work (for some reason - maybe it uses a custom launch process?), but after trying many different ways, I was able to get most Steam apps to use the correct GPU (GPU 0) by adding the custom launch option PROTON_USE_WINED3D=0 %command%

Steam runs the commands to launch the games directly, so editing .desktop files won't affect anything launched through steam directly.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=0 is related to the graphics back ends, so I wouldn't use it for selecting the GPU, as, while it might work for making a game use the dedicated GPU, it probably won't work reliably as you've discovered. For setting a game to run on the NVIDIA GPU I think PRIME and NVIDIA Optimus are the solution, but I can't help you much since all my systems have only a single GPU enabled. One of the following 3 launch options in steam should work:
__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia __VK_LAYER_NV_optimus=NVIDIA_only %command%

DRI_PRIME=1 %command%

prime-run %command%

Edit: I've found the artist's post of this image on Instagram and while they have plenty of other works on their website that I don't think used any AI, I feel like this image was at least partially AI generated, probably specifically prompted to be in her style (maybe they trained a LoRA to make it match better). I don't get why the only video they shared of them doing any shading/line-work is of some shading that isn't even in the final piece. It's totally possible that they didn't use AI, but without carefully studying their prior work (especially pieces from before AI image generation became common) this seems too much like AI, even compared to their other works that I have viewed.

Window reflection (?) spanning the window to the table

I think that might be from the OS and someone just took a screenshot?

There's a couple other things that look out of place to me:

  • More inconsistencies with the floor height near the base of the door-sized notice board with the frog on top
  • What is going on with the papers around the printer? It's as if it's chucking papers out of both the top and bottom/side, but presumably one of those should be the paper tray
  • Papers in the bottom left would need to be a pretty tall stack and placed in the inaccessible dead space at the corner of two desks - seems more like AI filling empty space, than an artist deciding to design it like that (edit: just realised partly why it looks off is that the papers seem to get smaller in size higher up the stack, they've stacked the papers in size order)
  • Image is square ratio, which is very common for AI image gen
  • Frogs have inconsistent numbers of "fingers"/"toes", sometimes 3, sometimes 4
  • Bottom desk is a weird shape, based on the perspective, probably because AI doesn't understand vanishing points
  • Floor pattern/lines doesn't continue in the triangle between the two desks in the bottom left
  • The middle building outside the window has full building length windows, but looks below the window cleaner frog and what should be wall is coloured like a window, while more windows are missing between the legs of the window cleaner

111 isn't an urgent line (if it's genuinely an emergency go to A&E or call 999) and from personal experience it takes hours for them to get back to you, at which point you've either already told them your symptoms have got worse, still had no call back and gone to A&E or they get back to you eventually and tell you that you might be fine, but should go to the hospital anyway and sit in a queue for 6 hours so they can make sure it's not actually something serious. NHS 111 is just as useless as the NHS Direct it replaced

For GP appointments that are released on the day, in the morning, you can avoid waiting in a long call queue to the GP by booking the appointment through the NHS app if your GP supports it.
