That's wild. Not doubting your diagnosis, just thought I'd mention because doctors treat the gallbladder like a cryptid. Lol.

I really hope you figure out a treatment plan that works, my friend. That sounds really awful.

Holy crap. I don't really use cannabis (not against it, majorly in favor of legalization, and occasion user. Just don't particularly like being drunk or high personally anymore), so I've never really considered how gallbladder removal might impact edibles. That's crazy.

That truly sucks. I'm sorry you're going through that.

Just one thing real quick, though, just in case. My entire family has had similar issues, and for every one of us* it has been our gallbladder. Also for every one of us, they have refused to check our gallbladders. My mom was told ulcers, which she had none. Had to have emergency surgery when her gallbladder was on the verge of ruptured. My brother was told it was his drinking (±1 drink a week), quit drinking for two years with no improvement. When they finally removed his gallbladder it was so bad it literally fell apart inside him when they tried to remove it, and he was in the hospital for a week *I'm currently going through it, and they're telling me it's acid reflux.

The gallbladder is the medical bigfoot. Doctors refuse to believe it exists, I'm pretty sure.

I mean, not a fan of these type of threads in general (to each their own, though), but feet are the single most common fetish, and more and more so considered a pretty normal thing to be into. It's close enough to vanilla to work well as a joke.

At this point, I'd say I am definitely a nondualist. I was raised Christian, so that flavors my outlook in major ways. I'm some weird mix of Hindu and Christian, and recently I've become very interested in Buddhism as well. I really enjoy the writings of Swamiji Vivekananda and Rama Krishna. A sort of universal view of religion, with many paths that lead us to God.

What about yourself? Do you subscribe to a particular religion or philosophy?

Also, related, do you recommend any Lemmy communities for this sort of stuff? I haven't found my esoteric and spiritual people on lemmy yet.

... well, I've been trying to describe what happens to me sometimes for years. Been calling it a panic attack since I was like 8 years old. Holy shit. I think I have this.

Someone else will need to answer on the border bit (though I doubt it), but I know from a friend who visited without travel insurance that he did have a bill for something like 30 thousand USD for a broken leg and rib. I think he just never paid it. He's back in the UK now, and says he'll never visit here again because of the experience with our hospitals

Worth noting that those discounted rates are still significantly higher than what insured patients pay, and astronomically higher than what people in actually sane countries pay.

For what it's worth, I assumed you were a lobster on Maury swearing up a storm about how you are not the father.

Around 5 years ago I started investigating my faith. I've always been sort of... Eclectic in that regard, but once I discovered the Dharmic faiths, it made a big difference in my life. Non dualism specifically. I chose the username because I made a new reddit account specifically for that sort of content. I was still really new to it at the time, and associated the branching out from my Christian roots with the same type of exploration people do when they're beginning to explore their sexuality. So it's a play on bi-curious. I wasn't Dharmic at the time, I was just Dharma-curious. Haha.

Tell Mama to divorce him now. Give her this letter.

Haha. I've had this username for several years now, you're the first one to comment on it across a bunch of different accounts. I love my username. Haha.
