There was another time I burnt down the whole kitchen making tacos. But that's less fun a story. Lol.

Decided to make fried chicken. We rarely ever eat fried foods, and so I don't have fancy things like deep fryers. What I had was a large cast aluminum pot.

Filled it about half way with oil, made amazing delicious fried chicken.

I also don't have a stop top. Use a single eye burner. Needed the burner for something else, so sat the pot on the counter next to the sink.

Moved wrong, knocked the pot into the sink. Boiling oil goes down the drain.

Know what's at the bottom of the drain? A trap full of water.

Water met boiling oil as I matrix dodged our of the way and a geysey worthy of yellow stone came flying out of the sink, both sides, shooting boiling oil and steam everywhere. Covering the ceiling, the walls, the floor. Even the dog got hit (thank God for long, thick fur!). I had splatter burns on my legs, which was the only part of me not under the counter when it landed. It came up with so much force it threw the pot out of the sink.

It really does. But I'm glad to be finding alternatives, and especially ones that I don't have, like, latent guilt about using. It's nice to use something that isn't corporate for a change.

Years ago, my brother and I were in our apartment watching TV when we heard a woman scream. It's like 3 in the morning. Run outside and don't see anything, but we heard a thud. There are little alcoves between the buildings and when we turn down the one against our building, there is a man holding a rag over a woman's face, and he's raping her. He's got both her wrists pinned with one hand, holding her body down with his, and pulling her head back to hold the rag on. It looked like her neck would break. When he saw us he booked it and we went to help the woman. I stayed to help her, my brother ran after the rapist. Called the cops and they took nearly half an hour to show up. My brother came back about 15 minutes later, unable to find the rapist. We moved a few years later, but to my knowledge they never caught him. She had gone on a date with him, met him online. Said the date was shitty and he apparently followed her home without her knowledge. He had given her a fake name and deleted his profile.

I've been trying to get off of other sites and into fediverse alts. I haven't found an imgur replacement, so I made a pixelfed account. I've basically just been cramming it full of stolen memes. I've never had more available space on my phone! Lol.
