I seriously hope they pass this. And then I want to see them start using it against airlines.

Not really. We know most other countries have PTO and vacation minimums. We're just told that workers in other countries are lazy and incompetent.
Michigan just passed a new law requiring everyone working for a company with more that 50 employees to give their workers 72 hours of sick time per year. Someone I work with said (paraphrasing) "why do I want that, they'll just take it out of my vacation time."
No, they won't. Not unless you let them. But, in a nonunion workplace there's no real protection. We have to band together and tell the company they're not allowed to take our vacation time. Then I'm stuck listening to how bad unions are by someone who's never been in a union.
We know about all this other stuff, we've just been lied to about it our entire lives.
I'm not sure how common this knowledge is, but the default Lemmy web-interface sucks. There are web portals that improve it considerably. Some of them may be available direct on your instance. If not, I use https://alexandrite.app/ for my frontend.
There are others, at least one of which looks like old.reddit, but I'm not sure the address of them. I would trigger Cunningham's Law, but I don't want to add confusion.
Oh boy, that looks...not good.
Nobody is taking this seriously, except racists. Were I stationed at Fort Bragg, I would take pride in knowing the fort was named after someone with actual patriotism. But I'd be shamed in knowing the real reason for the name.
Lumpy Space Princess throwing shade on that purple Spanish box.
Oh, no reason. But I was called into my manager's office because I hadn't turned it in early. I told everyone around me that they were looking to cut employees by figuring out who could handle more jobs.
Under "Hobbies" I put "Privateering". Under "Fluent Languages" I put "None".
We had to fill out a "personal biography" at work a couple years ago. Under "Thing I'm Most Proud of" I put "Time Magazine Person of the Year, 2006".
That gentle curve just makes it more comfortable for you hand.
My tariffs are the greatest. They're the biggest ever. Many people are telling me they've never seen tariffs this big.
I know only the first part is during WWII, but Godzilla Minus One is pretty good.
Is this the one you can hammer through a baseball and still write with?
