It's always funny to fire back at Redditors that the vast majority of the protestors weren't mad about communism, they were mad that things weren't communist enough.

"If we just keep doing everything the Republicans want to do and then point out how hypocritical they are when they complain, surely they'll come to their senses and join The Adults in the Room!"

"What do you mean we've tried that thirty times before and every time they call us dirty commies and get even more comically racist while we never roll any of this fascism back?"

Polls show that immigration is a primary electoral concern for many voters ahead of the 2024 election.

In what fucking universe of leading questions is immigration even in the top 20 issues today?

You'd be shocked how many factories are running on some ancient version of Windows XP in general. While it's baffling to those of us that don't use Windows for coding, the vast majority of software development still happens in Microsoft land.

While I wouldn't put it past Google/YouTube to do something as shitty as this, I think people are far too quick to assume foul play over the much more likely possibility that the world's largest video platform occasionally shits itself.

That is, of course, assuming the SAVE plan isn't tossed right out the window whenever the next administration gets elected in and decides that forgiving loans that have been paid in earnest for twenty years by people who will never be able to fully pay them off is Stalinism 2: Electric Boogaloo.

Look, if billionaires want to launder their bloodsoaked reputations I'd rather they do something useful like handing a bunch of college grads $1k in cash instead of laundering it into their own foundations to spend on eugenics experiments or whatever.

I had a job that offered 5 extra days of PTO a year to anyone who reached the holidays with less than 5 days of PTO remaining for the year.

The kicker?

They had a mandatory shutdown during the holidays that, for some inscrutable tax reason (as I understood it), they broke up into chunks of company holidays and mandatory PTO days, meaning your reward for using your PTO was to be given enough PTO days to cover the days they were forcing you to take without your consent. They framed this as a benefit.

Realizing we've been had because the sysadmins have been too quiet recently

If communism doesn't save us from entirely worthless scrumlord project managers, I welcome Posadism posadist-nuke

Meh, this is basically just someone being Big Mad about the popular choice of metaphor for neurology. Like, yes, the human brain doesn't have RAM or store bits in an array to represent numbers, but one could describe short term memory with that metaphor and be largely correct.

Biological cognition is poorly understood primarily because the medium it is expressed on is incomprehensibly complex. Mapping out the neurons in a single cubic millimeter of a human brain takes literal petabytes of storage, and that's just a static snapshot. But ultimately it is something that occurs in the material world under the same rules as everything else, and does not have some metaphysical component that somehow makes it impossible to simulate using software in much the same way we'd model a star's life cycle or galaxy formations, just unimaginable using current technology.

If you're an elected politician you should give enough of a shit to throw hands with your ideological enemies at minimum. Decorum is for allies and cowards.
