These malicious compliances are too fun, unfortunately, this kind of thing will increase engagement. Funny though, would have been a great April Fools day idea.

Are they re-opening properly, or doing a protest/malicious compliance version? E.g. Steam is open but now they're all posting about water vapour instead of games.

/r/Steam showed the way, as well as pics, gifs, etc. Maybe only photos of F1 toys or something?

They're heavy on the server, and I think the old design kept one per tab, so a single user could be responsible for dozens of websockets.

Plus, it's not like we need to get our updates immediately, even though it is cool. Perhaps further down the line the code could support both and switch based on server load.
