Yes, the pressing removes the water. I press tofu essentially every time I use it.

No problem at all going over 30, that's just my minimum time. You want to have enough weight to squish the water out but not so much that the brick crumbles. You can slice it lengthwise before pressing to help avoid this, or prep multiple blocks at once. You can also press it and then put it in the fridge, in a container or wrapped in plastic. It should keep for at least a day in that form.

My girlfriend was the same as you until I made tofu tacos for her. I don't blame anyone who hates tofu, because it's easy to fuck up. I had to experiment a lot to get it dialed in to my preference.

Tofu tacos:

Prepare your taco ingredients of choice, lettuce tomatoes salsa etc.

Take the tofu (extra firm variety if your store carries it), drain package in the sink, and press for 30 minutes. To press, wrap the tofu in a few paper towels or a dishcloth. Set on a flat surface and on top, place a cutting board and a medium sized book (200pg hardback 8"x5.5" or similar).

After pressing, cut the tofu into 1" cubes. Drizzle with oil of your choice, get them completely coated in a thin layer. (I like avocado, best to avoid olive for this recipe). Scoop from underneath at the side to avoid tearing them apart. Then take taco seasoning and mix it with corn starch at a 2:1 ratio of seasoning:starch. Add this to the cubes, try to coat them evenly but it's not an exact science. Now air fry at 350f for about 15 minutes, or until the edges become golden brown.

The key to tofu is to season the fuck out of it. It has no flavor except for what you give to it. If you would use 1 packet for meat, use 1.5 for the same weight of tofu, with whatever you're doing. Lately I've been into marinating it and then freezing it in the marinade for maximum flavor penetration. It's incredibly versatile.

Godspeed!

Most but definitely not all. Once had a friend who proudly joked about his "4-inch punisher". Seems like the sort of thing he wanted to get ahead of instead of letting other people talk about first

They tell their manager. That's it. Enough of them tell their manager, that manager has to tell their superior. It goes upwards from there.

Mmm no very unwise

Drinking doesn't excuse shitty behavior or words and if you can't handle that, it means you can't handle the responsibility of drinking. And if you genuinely "can't remember", what you're experiencing is alcohol blackouts which cause brain damage every time they happen. That's not normal for most people who consume alcohol. If that's the case, you have a problem and you're killing yourself slowly.

I really hope this is received positively. My brother in law drank himself to death almost three years ago now. I still miss him every day. Alcohol is a scourge upon humanity.

Just make sure the kitty has toys and scratch post to self-entertain while you're away, and that sounds like a great situation for a cat. Cats like when people give them space, in my experience. If you had a big social life I would say no, but it sounds like you're in a position to give plenty of attention when not at work. Gofor it! I think you'll be quite happy.

And as for the allergies, sounds like you're in the clear. About half the people I know with an allergy can't even be in the same room without having a reaction. Many others would also have a reaction from being brushed on by kitty.

Nova was my go-to for seriously about a decade. A year ago they changed the terms to broadly cover data they could sell. Like what apps you use, how often, and for how long. Really upsetting and I haven't found a suitable foss replacement yet. There's an obsession with "minimal" home launchers in the foss community that I don't understand, as they all lead to massive frustration for me. I'm currently using fossify launcher, which is buggy as hell on my device. If anyone knows a good foss nova-like home app I'm all ears. Actually, scratch that, I'm desperate.

Fuck their expectations. Everyone's got them. My advice, only give credence to your own expectations for yourself. It sounds like you're being emotionally abused by her, as others have illustrated. You have no moral obligation to care for your abuser.

Viewing other humans this way can lead to some pretty negative thinking, like racism. We're all humans, with vastly differing cognitive structures, trying to mesh together.

The most masculine thing possible is to give zero fucks about anyone else's definition of masculinity. You speak the truth. I've been watching some older cartoons from the 50s, and it's been a bit strange honestly. Because a lot of that material has a much healthier depiction of 'being a man'. There was a lot of emphasis on treating others with respect and carrying yourself with dignity. Obviously, a significant amount of behavior at the time didn't actually line up with most of those ideals. But somewhere along the path, empathy was divorced from manliness, and that's the root cause of the problem imo.

Classism applied to tops/bottoms has been around since the greeks, it seems hard for society to escape that as a whole.

I'm with you there, the modern (currently most popular when counting by volume) take on manliness is very weird and gross overall. Whenever I see guys glom on to that idea of manliness it's always been a bit bizarre to me. I primarily smell good for myself before anyone else, who wants to smell shit all day? Besides that, I was always told that "being a man" includes looking clean, sharp, and fresh. It has it's own form of toxicity to be sure (it's okay to have bad days/off days) but ultimately taking care of yourself with proper grooming breeds healthy confidence and self-image so long as you don't obsess over it.
