Any system I've ever used that expires passwords, forces you to set a new one upon logging in with the expired one.

It doesn't just lock you out and expect you to figure out on your own that you've gotta reset it via the 'forgot your password' link.

I used to use RDP from Android to my Windows 10 pc constantly. Since switching to Debian, I haven't gotten around to getting that working again. (Debians out of the box RDP solution gives me a black screen on the remote device)

Instead I've been using ssh a ton with JuiceSSH for a terminal. X-Plore for GUI managing files between local(android), ssh, gdrive, dropbox, and many more locations all in two tabs you can swap between and copy/paste/move files as if it's all one big file system.

Finally I use Folder Sync to keep all of the userdata files on my phone backed up to a folder on my server via SSH. Images are synced immediately on creation, and everything else is backed up on a schedule.

(my phone's always connected to a private VPN keeping it within my LAN and able to reach things like my SSH server, without exposing them to WAN)

The only thing I really miss having RDP for is the occasional website that refuses to play with a mobile browser. Hotmail/Outlook (I know, I should really change to someone not trash for email) for example will not let you edit inbox rules via a mobile browser or their mobile app. (even with 'request desktop site' enabled). You have to use an actual desktop browser for that. :(

Otherwise I do pretty much everything from mobile.

They're Maine Coons, not 'House Cats'

They're just commonly understood colloquial names.

Maybe if ony one or two places are reporting on it. If all the major 'reputable' news sources are reporting it; there's a pretty good chance there's something to it.

Only if the moon is on your side of the planet at the time and not already eclipsed by earth's shadow.

We are however very connected. That shit would be global news immediately.

Yeah "dd if=/dev/mmcblk0 of=$HOSTNAME.$(date +%Y.%m.%d).img" and while its running. (!!! Make sure the output is NOT going to the sd card you are backing up....)

I deliberately chose a time when it's not very active to perform the backup. Never had an issue, going on 6 years now.

I used to wonder why porn sites aren't required to use '.cum' instead of '.com'...

I've always used dd + sshfs to backup the entire sd card daily at midnight to an ssh server; retaining 2 weeks of backups.

Should the card die, I've just gotta write the last backup to a new card and pop it in. If that one's not good, I've got 13 others I can try.

I've only had to use it once and that went smoothly. I've tested half a dozen backups though and no issues there either.

Yup, Swedish police issued a search warrant and raided Mullvads offices last year. They left empty handed as Mullvad does not retain ANY customer data.
