Hello; I'm just calling to let you know I'm dead.
Darkassassin07
As lemmy doesn't notify users of mod actions; it's your job to go look at it when you notice your post/comment was removed.
I agree that part of the software should be improved, but that's where we're at now. Gotta work with what you have.
Whining about this under a random news article isn't going to change things. This topic should have been a separate, constructive, post; now this whole comment section and the pile of downvotes is all about you, and the news that was shared has been completely overshadowed because of it.
Get over it and move on; or find a more constructive method of communication.
I won't reply further.
Seems you read an entirely different article...
Chick-fil-A is reportedly launching a
but that is apparently what Chick-fil-A (yes, the fast food chain) is planning to do.
Deadline reports that Chick-fil-A is
Chick-fil-A has yet to announce or publicly comment
All the article OP posted mentions, beyond saying Chick-fil-A is doing this, is:
But it feels important to bear in mind that Chick-fil-A is owned by the Cathy family, whose independently managed trust was instrumental in the foundation of Trilith Studios -- the Atlanta studio most well known for its frequent work for Marvel.
I'm not disputing what you've said about who's actually behind this; but to talk down to everyone here like that info was already given to them is rather shitty.
Once again:
It's right there in the mod log. As lemmy doesn't notify users of mod actions; it's your job to go look at it when you notice your post/comment was removed.

My point is to draw attention to... ...the fact they aren't even following their own rules for situations like this
Then you should have made a [meta] post talking about it and requesting change; not added passive aggressive notes to an otherwise unrelated news article.
Still. All you had to do was repost; complying with the rule you broke, that was pointed out to you via the removal message. It's not like you were punished for it.
You chose to draw further attention to your rule breaking. Mods aren't babysitters; they're volunteers with limited time and lots of work to do.
Also; I've never seen an [active] automod on Lemmy, and given the pinned post about the other bot(s), they don't seem to be working as intended/very well. Not all that surprised it didn't notify you.
Reposting cause mods didn't let me know title needed to be changed
Posters are expected to read the rules; hence no warning, just removal.
I found my works wifi blocks most ports outbound, but switching my my vpn to a more 'standard' port like 80, 443, 22, etc gets through just fine.
Now I've got a couple port forwarding rules I can switch on, as needed, that take one of those and route it to my vpn host.
It's honestly baffling how many people are, willfully ignorant of things they depend on.
I know far too many people that know nothing about cars beyond 'turn key, engine turns on'. I'm no mechanic either, but I can at least identify some parts and perform basic maintenance.
As far as I've seen, yes.
It's not money they owe, but money owed to them; backed by some form of contract. Your credit card contract for example.
Person A owes person B money, let's say $100. Person B sells that debt to Person C for $80.
Person A still owes the same $100, just to a different person.
Person B gets paid now instead of waiting for Person A to pay up, but lost $20 on the deal.
Person C invested $80, hopefully gets paid the full $100, not having to chase down a delinquent debtor, and profits $20 out of the deal.
Nobody wants to be person C when it comes to the Debt Twitter owes.
If you had someone that owed you money (or anything else really), you could sell that debt, assuming you can find a buyer for it. Banks just do this on a much larger scale than $100 at a time.
Wow, what a PoS
