I would suspect like other have said there would t be a new one every year and doubt the latest ones would be selling for over £1000/$1000 each.

I have a SE and had for 18 months. It works perfectly fine for me. And from what you want it for, would be fine.

I’ve had iPhones since 3GS and recently upgraded to the 12. But my favourites are like this:

iPhone 4S due to Siri iPhone 6S due to newer phones getting bigger than my hand iPhone X has it the longest and happy with it but battery was crap and the battery pack died.

The only iPhone that comes close to my iPhone X (longest used) is the iPhone 4S and that is simply due to Siri. Back then it was a game changer.

Mine goes like this:

iPhone 3GS > iPhone 4S > iPhone 5S > iPhone 6S > iPhone X > iPhone 12.

Bonus I started with an iPod 2G & iPod 6 (think) & also have an iPhone SE2020 as my dev beta phone.

iPads: iPad 1, iPad 4, Air 2, Pro 1 & iPad 9. Apple Watch: Series 0, Series 4 & SE.

Yes I have an addiction to Apple.
