It looks like you can download all stories in ePub format, which pretty much all e-book readers can open.

For Kindles, which use Amazon's own format, you should be able to easily convert these ePub-Files to AZW3 or MOBI using Calibre, for example.

That's exactly why I'm asking. What patriotism is or should be, I can't answer, but I can say that what the self-proclaimed patriots in America are doing atm seems to me like the opposite of what this this strange concept should be about, because they are helping to cement an oligarchy - and that can't be in the interests of US citizens.

Edit: Just to be clear: If you are a US citizen and disagree with the administration's policies, I would consider you a patriot – but I am probably the worst person to ask about this.

Yes, this pattern is also prevalent in Europe. That is precisely why the US should serve as a cautionary example. We still have a reasonably functioning media landscape, but that can change quickly here too.

Yes, it's sad, especially since the Guardian is a UK news outlet.

Yes, but apparently they expect someone to teach them even the most basic things - they seem to be getting this "education" from Truth Social & Co. now because there is apparently no longer a halfway decent education system in the US.

I can't think of any other explanation for why someone would vote twice for a presidential candidate who is so obviously unsuitable.

Is that the explanation for how Trump could be elected not just once, but twice?

Stewart is still a handsome man despite his hair loss, but that doesn't seem to apply to Shatner - he certainly got lucky.

In the meantime, he is building up his secret police force with an astronomical budget of 75 billion - just in case the dysfunctional US legal system manages to achieve something that could even remotely threaten him, which is obviously essentially impossible.

It's really the establishment of a dictatorship straight out of the textbook.

[–] DandomRude@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

So, already in full dictator mode. Well, with his 75 billion secret police, there's not much that can go wrong.

The same goes for Netanyahu...

Not sure if this should be marked NSFW. I mean, it's just the Bulls logo...

Please convince me that I should continue my support or advice what I can do. I'm prepared to do my part, but I can only do so if I can be sure that my support is not going to people who think arbitrary Censorship is alright (needs to be based on objective community rules and not on the political agenda of mods).
