Attempting to ask similar question:

I do cold brew but haven't found a grinder that give a consistent grind that's coarse enough.

My current method is to grind as coarse as I can, and then run through a fine mesh sieve. Even then, I end up with a good amount of grounds making it through the mesh container I use for soaking.

Is there a go-to grinder people like for cold brewing?

A boost? I'm not familiar with what that is. That's not a Lemmy thing is it?

Had just clicked away from this post when I saw you comment. I need you to know that I came back just to ensure I upvoted your post (or whatever we call those here).

Thanks, saved me few minutes of searching (and maybe being put on some FBI watch list?)

As a homemade cold brew enthusiast, yeah, the amount of work it takes to get the fines out of coffee ground with a cheap grinder is horrendous.

legally exposed

What do you mean by that? Is that to say that I might be held responsible if my instance picked some other instance that was hosting illegal content as though I were a "redistributor" or something?

Yeah, the real issue is that I'm too cheap to pay for a domain name / setting up a server, though it is a goal once some other life things straightened out for me.

Which puts fuckheads like me in a tough spot, since I want a classic "old internet" (read as: 4chan culture of shitheadery) feel to the place, but also don't want to infringe on people like you's ability to enjoy a relatively clean internet space.

Given everything, I think having "clean" servers that defederate from toxic ones is probably the way to go just to ensure new users can have a generally good time. Then let more advanced users (like me) go find the "never defederate" instances to sign up to get that old timely feel.

So....uh, yeah TL;DR: I think I'm on the other guy's side, but also think you have the right of it.

Make it and then sell it to my wife to give to me for a gag gift next Christmas.

Her budget for such a thing would probably be ~$100 if you need a target price point.

I have a feeling the onus to keep this from happening again is going to fall on ISPs; then that is going to lead to a greater level of information collected on individuals who attempt to get service through US ISPs; which will then allow the ISPs to leverage their additional data collection to sell better information to advertisers.

Man, why couldn't we have landed in a cool dystopia?
