I agree that there's a ton of parallels between now and the period just before WWI (e.g. I've only recently realized how much a tangled web of alliances the Middle East / North East Africa is).

But of all the parallels that could exist, I really think the "men aren't manly enough" attitude we see today / saw them is not a good indicator of us heading towards the next world war. And even if you think it's a good one, I also think there are just way better indicators, to the point that recruiting propaganda trends aren't going to be a major contributor.

Property is managed by RealPage (or some flavor of subsidiary/partner company).

I really hope that company gets SUNK after the anti-trust lawsuit they're dealing with (it's a really slow moving one, and I haven't heard a substantial update since Summer 2023).

For additional context, two world wars were fought between the "discovery" of the green house effect in the global context. It really feels like marking the time the climate movement started as somewhere in the 1950's (History.com mentions the first major study on the matter was in 1958 ) is a more realistic timeframe to say "we really should have known better" (since that's when word would have begun trickling to the masses).

That's not to say that we're smart - it's not to say that we're not stupid, its just to say we're not quite as stupid as the comic would have you think
