Big same.
I REALLY like Andy Weir's work, but was super surprised when he delivered a not-at-all humanoid alien in a compelling way. The Alien' crazy math skills felt really Deus Ex Machina, but was still compelling.
I wish Weir would write something like The Expanse, with a major human civilization spanning the solar system, maybe something even bigger. He's good at making normal problems in fantastic situations feel real and grounded and I'd love to see that style continued into bigger stories like that.
NTA. Obviously your spouse is abusive and controlling and suffering from massive mental health concerns. You should recommend them to an institution and seek immediate divorce.

This is beautiful, but I have to ask: how do people get their colonists to actually accomplish anything? Like, it looks like a pawn would only be able to cross this base 2/3 times per day. Seems like a major bottleneck for production.

Obviously a lot of dumb here, but I'm most curious about the dividing of some of the existing states.
Like, I assume LN is Lincoln? But I thought the Lincoln movement was something on the East Cost, along Tennessee or something?
Texas being divided up with AU (Austin?) Being the biggest chunk is interesting. Not sure what's up with the chopping up on Oklahoma and Sequoia (?) though.
What's with that AB business in Wyoming?
Also interesting that California would encompass all of the Baja Peninsula. I would have figured that would have broken off as its own state (BJ for Baja probably would have been too awkward for the conservative that drafted this, but maybe BC for Baja California?)
I'd love to hear more about these if anyone can point me to references.

I remember when Honey first started going around being tempted to install it, but after some critical this king I couldn't figure out how an app/extension like that could make the money to pay for all these ads. Sketched me out and I never installed it. Real glad I didn't.
