Can't find a source for it in the quick, but I remember there being a huge set of claims that were expected to be denied by United Healthcare (corporation who's leader was killed) based on the historical precedence they'd set, but were approved. I want to say that was still going for at least 6 months following the killing, but sounds like they're ratcheting back to previous practices.

I expect the NextCloud bit may be playing games a part in all this too.
But next question in my mind: when you recv a message while hooked up to Android Auto on your car, does their contact show up then? Sounds like it does, but just want to be sure.
If Auto can read the incoming number and associate it with the contact, then that should say its not a "Android auto doesn't have access to the proper database issue".
Side note: Lol, I'm getting usually bought into your issue. I think its because I've found something that's always been a black box to me and this is an opportunity to learn. In any case, I use Fossify for my main contacts app. Its been....fine...so haven't bothered looking for a better solve and so also hoping this research helps me too, I think.
Don't have a definite solve, but did some research you might find helpful.
It looks like Fossify Contacts (and most privacy respecting contact apps) maintain a separate database of contacts from your phone's "true" contact database. This means the app occasionally needs to sync up with that "true" database.
My research seems to be pointing to GrapheneOS as a whole having a ~~current~~ recent issue with syncing that "true" database with a bunch of apps. This Github Issue appears to have resolved it (though I didn't read all of the comments on it), so unclear what else needs to be done.
I finally got Android Auto setup on my phone yesterday (it was a RTFM issue), so your post caught my eye. I don't see myself having time to do a lot of testing to support finding your fix, but I'mma try this with a couple of contacts apps over the next day or so and see if it isn't just a "use a different app" solution.
In the mean time, hope you have good luck finding a solve!
Edit: My Clanker Assistant suggested this:
Add your Google account if not already done:
- Go to Settings > Passwords & accounts > Add account > Google
- Sign in (this uses GrapheneOS's sandboxed Play services, so it's contained).
- Enable sync for Contacts.
To be fair, its always been the west broken themselves on Afghanistan (yes I consider Russia part of the west in this case as their capitol/leadership were primarily closer to the Atlantic than the Pacific).
Curious what happens to the East as they interact with Afghanistan.
Yeah, but corner to corner, you'd probably be taking a boat anyway for 80%.
Even one end of Italy to the other, seems like walking to the coast, then boating the length, then walking coast to destination would be the play.
Yeah, customer facing jobs suck. I worked a pair of that type of job for a few years, and thought I enjoyed that kind of customer facing work. Then I got into a more technical, more "back of house" job where I only need to interface with people who know what they're talking about (okay, maybe only 80% fit that, but def an improvement on the 20% from before). That definitely helped with some nerves related issues I didn't even realize I was having back then.
I don't know what key skills you have that could be translated to another line of work, but it sounds like trying to get away from the customer service desk is what you should angle for.
Agreed, but I have shared passwords with family members....family members who aren't tech savvy and aren't necessarily in my immediate vicinity that I can offer tech support to in a timely manner.
I've found Bitwarden to be a workable stop gap while I work in a self hosted Vaultwarden instance (taking a lot longer to spin up with recent career moves - been in the works for almost a year now).
That said, how "high maintenance" do you think it would be to set up a keepass ish setup like you suggest?
Its not on F-Droid :,(
Ew.
So that is to say, as far as you know, the method I describe above more or less still applies for pigs, sheep, etc?
Eh, I feel like the female cow is still getting a raw deal. Less raw than the classic "breed this bull with this cow" arrangement, but still somewhat not good.
Trying to be "facts forward" so make of this what you will. Source: I was in FFA in highschool in a beef intense-ish area.
The method of collecting semen I'm most familiar with is when they take a female cow in heat and tie her up, then bring a male bull they want to collect semen from into the same pen. The male will smell the female is in heat, gets erect, and will attempt to mount her.
As the male is trying to mount the female, people in the pen with the cattle will have a large rubbery "sleeve" on a pole (imagine a cow sized condom on a stick) that they will maneuver around the bull's penis as it mounts the cow. He does his thing in the condom thinking he's inside the female (usually less than 30 seconds) dismounts and then the ranchers have their semen for artificial insemination.
I've been out of that area for over a decade now so a new method may have emerged since then, but in my Animal Sciences class, that's how we were taught semen is harvested for most livestock.
Edit: I distinctly recall the "artificial vagina" being on a stick (and laughing about it in class), but best video I can find on the quick: https://youtu.be/-4ma3WeOxbo
Interesting take.
IIRC, this was the main "bubble panic" in the years leading up to the COVID pandemic (though its since been replaced by general gov spending unease and then AI as biggest worry).
