Don't get me wrong, I don't have any hope of this happening.

I'm just absolutely sure that we're not getting out of this mess unless the average centrist voter in the west stops being protective of capitalism as a knee jerk reaction.

Unchecked capitalism is the cause of all this. As long as we put money first, there's no mitigating this. To go from a money first to a people first mindset, the average person needs to understand and accept the root cause, and reconcile with the fact that they are a large part of the problem not through their carbon footprint or waste management skills but through their political stances and voting habits.

It definitely is the root cause of this problem. There's no maybe. The faster the political center accepts this fact, the more of a hope we have of surviving this shit show.

They will drown us out even if they don't want in that case. Them just using the service normally will flood all our feeds with posts from their service based on the sheer number of them.

Exactly.

I call this "the fuck you trifecta".

So, are you married to futurama, and it's your son's favorite show, or are you married to your son, and futurama is their favorite show?

I always order small, medium or large, and not once met a barista who made a comment about it.

The only choice most people have is between being an outcast, and sucking it up and using whatever everyone else is using. Some people are natural trend-setters, most are followers and there are those who want to do things for good reasons rather than copying everyone else. That last group of people have an uphill battle because their lifestyle requires thought and deliberation, which is something most people aren't willing to do, sadly.

I found out after getting a BSc and MSc in engineering that the vast majority of the problems I had with math was due to being "taught" math by idiots who didn't actually understand the subject they were tasked with teaching.

I came to believe all my life that I had some math-learning disability where even though I could explain the theory of the parts I understood, there was so much I didn't and thus kept getting failing or barely passing grades. Whenever I asked questions to understand, I would get replies that wouldn't help with anything, which I attributed to my inability to imagine something most other classmates could.

Turns out, none of them "understood" anything, including the teachers. They were just better than me at learning and recalling steps in a mechanical fashion. I still can't "do math" as in a math test, but I can model physical systems like a motherfucker.

Good thing you happened to be popular then. It's akin to self-ostracizing for most, especially young people.

They don't have to behave the same way fortunately, like auto replying to every thread posted.

Juggling!

  • It can be done dirt cheap

  • It's really therapeutic

  • You can practice it almost anywhere but especially alone in your room

  • If you git gud at it, you have a cool skill to show off
