In my campaign, the party got attacked by a grey ooze, which corroded some weapons and the barbarian's armor. We were all like, was the barb even wearing armor? Turns out she had it on from a previous level when it made sense, but had since taken points in Constitution (and I think a magic item gave her Sex). So, she removed her armor and her AC literally went up by 2, lol!

I don't disagree with you, but I will say that it is quite dependent on the community. I had some issues for a while, but spent time filtering and muting/blocking communities and users, and now I'm at a point where my feed is significantly less fanatical and toxic than Reddit ever was (even after years of attempting to filter the same way).
Exactly my reason. After the Reddit API fiasco, I tried the Lemmy web interfaces at first and was a bit frustrated because it just didn't work well. Then I saw Boost had a Lemmy version, and switched over, easy-peasy.
Congratulations on 1 year! I don't read every day, but I'm glad when I do. Quite a commitment! Thanks so much for your contribution!
This was fascinating and informative, thank you so much!
I know I'm in the minority, but I actually like the pledge, even if it's reminiscent of authoritarianism (and I strongly believe it should be optional). But that's because my interpretation was always "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the USA, and to the [ideals and values of the] republic for which it stands." I viewed it as an affirmation of the commitment by myself to the "liberty and justice for all" we wanted, not as a statement of fact that no matter what the current leadership does, you should be loyal.
All that being said, I could see a contribution of the pledge to an environment of the nationalism or jingoism that led to MAGA. I just don't blame the pledge; I blame the leaders, politicians, media personalities, and individuals that drove MAGA to become mainstream.
There's enough variety here that I don't mind them. If they were dominating the community, that's one thing, but I don't see that as the case right now.
The true Golden Path was the lizards we met along the way
If there was a god, I'd imagine them designing the universe and giggling like an idiot when they made math.
The Star Wars Expanded Universe (now called "Star Wars Legends" because of Disney)
Lanolin, used in some beauty products and also lubricants, gives me a specific memory of a neighbor when I was young. She was a sweet old lady and owned a harpsichord, and would let me come over and play pretty much whenever I wanted, as long as I finished off by playing "some Bach, anything Bach." I think some part of it needed a lanolin oil, because that's all I could smell when I was playing weird little Star Wars themes (before finishing with "some Bach, anything Bach).
Lol, love making a typo and coming back to a whole thread about it. The NES zapper totally needs to feature in one of my campaigns now
