All these attempts to make inexpensive, affordable housing like this completely ignore the fact that it's not the house itself that's so expensive. It's the land.

I also love how some Gamers pretend to care and say stuff like "it must suck to be Japanese and instead of getting a main character that looks like you, you get a black guy", when it seems Japanese people who care about the game are actually like "Yasuke? Fuck yeah!"

What exactly is a retainer in this context?

If that feels like it's not much, all of those losses are a relatively short amount of time. In terms of how long systems last, ~70 years is a very short time. The Fall of the Roman Empire probably did not feel like a quick, cataclysmic event when it happened.

Is there a term for "suddenly talking like you're writing some research paper in the middle of an argument?" Because there needs to be.

Over 100 years of written theory and pamphlets didn't do it, but some Internet comment will!

I just read that vampires are weak to weapons of peasants, while werewolves are weak to weapons of aristocracy. Therefore, hellfire missiles would kill werewolves, but vampires are killed by kalashnikovs. The AR-15, being a weapon of the petit bourgeois, would kill neither.

Sometimes I wonder if the "cringe reddit atheist" label did more harm than good. Like, there are definitely religious people on the Internet who use that label to shut down ALL criticism of religion, even if it's relevant to the conversation at hand, and if it's a legitimate criticism.

Furthermore, many times these reddit atheists are actual teenagers, just learning atheism, and sometimes, have a good reason to be angry. Like, religious parents hanging religion over their head constantly.
