friend watched i saw the tv glow and messaged me to say "yeah i'm still cis"

i signed a contract with a devil making me recommend revolutionary girl utena in every circumstance where it's remotely applicable. the main plot ultimately comes down to the central romance and makes me cry a lot

also millennium actress and liz and the blue bird are two of the best romance films of all time imo. real tearjerkers

spoileredelgard gets a gundam! well she gets a zaku, which is way cooler, and not a representation of imperial hegemony

maybe tara wanted it to go that way, but if so things very much didn't work out

you had good takes, hadn't thought about the time like that

oh have you read an eagle among lions? that's my personal fave 3 houses fic, it's wild

[–] Cromalin@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago

oof. it's worth a long drive to see it, but probably not 2 hours. check it out when it's available outside theaters! maybe there'll be a good camrip soon!

it's not really a horror movie, they're kind of advertising it as one but it's not. there's one scene that's relatively scary, and the rest of it is just really sad and sometimes there's a mildly creepy atmosphere

like if you're absolutely never going to see anything remotely scary, go with a friend get her to hold your hand. but i think you could probably manage it

i absolutely see what you're talking about yeah. it's so brutal, time is always slipping away ::: spoiler spoilers i definitely saw it as a queer liberation solidarity thing. if you wanted to get really abstract you could read it as "cis gay people got some big gains starting in the late 90s but without full liberation including trans people it doesn't matter."

i think you could absolutely read it as a love story. her saying "i like girls, you know that right?" and asking isabel what she likes, and then putting her in the dress definitely feels like it could go there. it doesn't, but it's something that COULD have gone that way, you know?

rat-salute

you didn't say one way or the other so here's fanfican earth shattering confession, homestuck
magical girl, madoka magica
shedding the disguise, kaito kid
a bed of twigs, fire emblem three houses
avatar, sword art online
horn replacement therapy, urusei yatsura
the devil's brew, we know the devil

basically all of these are about early transition/egg cracking and are gay as hell. shouldn't need any context from the works they're fanfic of either
