Thank you so much for this. This lead me to usenet-docker and now I'm on my way to downloading the entire internet.

If people wanted what this extension did, YouTubers wouldn’t make thumbnails like this. Unfortunately, it’s what gets clicks, so they’re forced to do it to get engagement. Linus of LTT has lamented the fact that he has to make click bait titles, but it earns the big bucks so he has to do it. That’s how being a YouTuber works.

I expected this to be bashing from the title, but it took a pleasant turn. Makes me want to play the game now.

What’s made this much worse than it needs to be, something California won’t have impacting it, is if 25% of your roof is damaged by storms, Florida law requires your insurance company to replace it entirely. This drives up costs for the insurance companies to unbearable prices insanely as roofing companies literally scour the streets trying to sell their repair services to anyone who mistakenly opens the door.

I don’t think I’ve gone a month without the sounds of roofing repair going on outside.

How do I get started with usenet? I did a quick search in the megathread and didn't see anything about it. I've heard a lot of very positive stuff about usenet, but just trying to figure out about how much it costs all in and everything.

It probably preserves them as much as it can. Unless the links are only lead to by links loaded through vbscript, it’s all just text.

They’ll never pull a Reddit either because Microsoft spent a bunch of money on it and Microsoft knows how to maintain customer loyalty, even when actively working against them. They know how to safely explore their boundaries.

This can happen when some Lemmy instances upgrade their servers. I’ve seen a lot of people talking about this happening multiple times.

Rising tides lift all boats. Don’t look down on others because they’re struggling with you, lift yourself up with them.
