Waze is owned by Google and is based heavily on Google maps now
Their business is advertising and Android is how they track an insane number of users. Like Chrome, they'll never kill it, it's far too valuable to them.
They probably actually delete it if you request them to from a country covered by GDPR, but not if you just hit the delete button on your post. This is fairly common.
OpenAI also does this with its image generator, but apparently not to such a powerful degree.

Nobody has any idea how old this poster is, it could be an old ass boomer as easily as it could be a zoomer and we're just going on making statements about the technical abilities of new generations without any actual evidence other than a single person that can't do something for themselves? There are many, many people from my graduating class who would be as helpless as this person and I'm fucking 30.

For anyone else curious, the police aren't identifying the relationship between the victims and suspects at this time and the article doesn't seem to mention the children's ages, though the suspects ages and the fact the victims weren't reported missing implies caregivers/parents in my opinion, but a total guess.
That's already one of their goals. That only really benefits the poors, who they believe shouldn't have any sort of benefit at all.
