I don‘t expect anything to come out of this because the way Germany has been dealing and not dealing with this is frankly atrocious. It‘s also atrocious how German media HAS to remind everyone of the October 7th massacre and claim how it alone „triggered“ the war whenever they talk about Gaza. Just disgusting rhetoric.

Steam is criminally understaffed and always caves in with no resistance when any actor wants to block access to thousands of games to millions of potential customers. This is just the latest chapter in a long history of them neglecting their users.

For example a large number of affected games in this case have already been blocked in Germany for a while because Steam refused to implement any type of age verification. They didn‘t even want a dialog with authorities and flat out region blocked affected games instead.

Now, I will say that this move by Germany was complete hypocrisy because it only affected unrated games and porn, when other 18+ games are still perfectly available because they „only“ contain massive amounts of violence. Somehow age verification isn‘t necessary here for some reason and gambling with cosmetic items is fine too? Good to know we have our priorities straight. /s

Whatever the case, the point is Steam always choses the path of least resistance. Germany has a system that lets users verify their age anonymously. Sony has implemented it for their store no problem but Steam doesn‘t even bother to have a single German speaker in their support team.

Private? I remember LLM services to actually warn you about sharing sensitive information with the bot because there's nothing private about it. If you're shocked about this you've been living under a rock.

Trumps entire success strategy can be summarized with: „claiming victories where there are none“. That‘s it. It‘s not a very clever or original strategy but that orange is clinging to it like few before him.

There will be items in the generated pictures that won‘t be part of the menu and it will be a shitshow.

Finally we can watch all the trailers that radical christian groups allow us to watch without interruptions!

Yes, I know. The problem is that most people see an average stat and think it‘s a universal law. That goes for life expectancy, height and even GDP per capita among other things. In reality no one is perfectly average and extremes exist everywhere.

Economists have been warning about this before the election. The parties that got the most votes had terrible household deficits in their budget plans that were utterly unrealistic. Merz already paddled back to an extreme degree (even so much that people call him a fraud for making promises that he couldn‘t realistically uphold) but even then conservative policies were doomed from the start.

Two larger cities created one together just two weeks ago and it‘s already dead.

They also lived shorter on average. Some of them still reached a very old age. The average really doesn‘t tell us that much about the extremes that existed.

I assure you there isn't one but thank you anyway.
