I've thought about moving to typescript. Do you have suggestions for a 20+ year JavaScript dev?

When your hands are wet or you can't grab your phone....the one thing I used Google assistant for, Gemini can't do.

This makes me so worried to travel out of the US. The only "papers" I have of being a citizen is my passport. And I fully expect my immigration status will be questioned by the police and ICE.

They aren't terrified. They want to oppress minorities and women.

And most importantly, the administration is attempting to signal to their base that they won so they get to act like they won.

Saying they are terrified gives them credit that they don't deserve.

This isn't fear. This is power.

Yeah man. It's the free space in the center. You got to read the full board.

The Freedom Convoy was as much about personal rights as the Civil War was about state's rights.

I would love to see NATO countries (besides the US) band together and say:

”We will come together to support our great ally, so long as she saves herself. Upon the acceptance of President Trump's and Vice President Vance's resignation, we will provide the aid that our friend needs."

Trump could, in fact, be the hero here. He could walk away from the presidency with a win. For added measure, these countries could write lofty and wonderful articles about Trump's selflessness.

We know he won't.

Aside: I'm not saying Mike Johnson would make a good president. But let's take this one thing at a time.

Oh you got to use that shit to your advantage. My ex partner and I would sometimes do this dance where she really likes something but doesn't like the price. She would call me with a trigger phrase meaning to say no.

So on speaker, I'd be like, "Huh. Are you sure? It doesn't sound like a great deal. Maybe we should sit on it. I think it'd make more sense if it was like $x amount less."

The sales guy would often take this and come back with an amount that's more reasonable. If my partner said the trigger phrase again, I'd stick to the no. Otherwise I'd agree.

Fun times.

Credit cards (when used correctly) is one of the few pro consumer products we have left.

Most cards come with fraud protection, something you cannot get with cash, checks, or gift cards.

Similarly, most cards come with purchase protections like extended warranties. I have a credit card that gives me free damage protection on my cell phone so long as I pay the monthly bill with it.

I'm not saying cash isn't great but there are good reasons to use a credit card. At least for now.

You know what I'd love to see?

People going to Tesla dealerships and just wasting the time of sales staff.

Especially if you have poor credit and have no way to pay for a car. Make them spend resources running your credit. Have your credit locked for good measure. Tell them that you unlocked it. Come back every weekend, confused as to why it's not working.

Make it impossible for them to get a sale out of you, but jerk them around to make them think they might.

In other words: scambait them. Because they are scammers.
