In the US, you can sue anyone for any reason, even if it's frivolous.

You force the other side to respond, making them hire a lawyer to defend you, even if the case is dismissed on its merits.

I very much disagree with lemmy.world's decision to block the community but I completely understand it. I exercised my right to move to a new instance in response.

There was a browser game some had developed where you had to spend all your money. It was similar to cookie clicker.

The point of the game was that once you have a billion dollars, you have so much money that you literally could not spend that much money.

Tldr: some do. Most are hermaphrodites.

There are definitely times when requesting a source is healthy. I had posted what I believed to be a true fact (about cities only planting male trees. You can look in my profile and see it). Someone replied that it wasn't true. I went about looking for the original source from where I read it (admittedly almost 10-15 years ago) and learned that the original source was refuted.

Skepticism is healthy. But we're at a point where healthy skepticism and sealioning is getting difficult to tell apart.

Is The Simpsons set in Oregon canon? I know Matt Groening has said that he's from there and a lot of the characters are inspired by his real life family.

I haven't seen The Simpsons in ages since it stopped being good so I don't know if this is a new thing or the OP took some liberties.

Except that private weather companies use freely available government data and "enrich" it for the public for a fee.

Which is, imo, even more on brand with Republicans.

So long as he says it's an official act, I don't see a problem with it.

I actually think a 20% return is modest. She literally has her finger on the pulse of the economy. She should have done better.

Not saying I condone it but if you're going to crime and get away with it, as least go big.

I personally think that the plural of Batman is Batmans.

People who study bats would be bat men.

My guess is that he's hoping that Trump will kick the bucket while in office and get a free pass without needing to campaign.
