from what I understand, there are essentially three levels of olive oil:
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil: the good stuff, used primarily as a taste additive, dressings, etc.
- Refined Olive Oil: the cheap stuff, typically mashed olives that make it out of EEVO. You'll use this for frying
- Blended Olive Oil: medium priced, usually a blend of EEVO and refined
That isn't to say that olive oil doesn't need better controls and oversight.
There is no reason to buy EEVO when refined will do. I use the cheap stuff for making mayonnaise because it blends better. In fact, if you try to use EEVO for mayonnaise, it will turn rancid.

I'll admit I kind of typed this without thinking it through. In a secured site, the password would be hashed and salted before storing in the database.
Depending on where you're doing the hashing, long strings might still slow you down. That being said, from a security standpoint, any gain in entropy by adding characters would be negligible past a certain point. I don't remember what that number is but it certainly isn't in the thousands.
I sort of get it. You don't want to allow the entire work of Shakespeare in the text field, even if your database can handle it.
16 characters is too low. I'd say a good upper limit would be 100, maybe 255 if you're feeling generous.

If you want to pay for GamePass, Amazon Prime, Paramount, Peacock, Hulu, etc. then by all means do so.
But each renewal, you need to ask yourself, "Am I getting the value out of this subscription to warrant the price?"
Amazon Prime was a no starting two years ago.
Spotify premium was never valuable to me.
I do have a YNAB subscription but this is slowly moving towards a no as well.
I have Google One for drive/Gmail space but that's about it.
The reimbursement rates for therapists is insane. When I look at my EOB, my psychiatrist gets paid just under $100 for a 25 minute medication maintenance session.
According to insurance rules, this includes any administrative work like filing the claim, booking appointments, office staff, etc. And if I email my doctor, that's covered under that $100.
I'd have to double check this but I don't think his reimbursement rate has gone up since I started seeing him 5 years ago.
And this is for a medical doctor. I imagine a talk therapist the reimbursement rate is lower.
I've seen therapists both in and out of network and the ones out of network are more attentive. I don't feel as rushed to get out the door and they don't overbook. It sucks that this basically means only rich people can see them.
We really need to reform healthcare in this country.

When evolution like this occurs, it's typically not one fish right? The idea is that several fish develop a trait that is beneficial that leads them away from water (or whatever), which they thrive in, causing them to reproduce with those same traits.
At what point do scientists say that enough change has occurred that they are a new species?
