Yes and no.

You are correct that it's never about policy.

But you get a sense of the candidate by how they respond to counter points and how they are able to pivot on the fly. Sort of like in an interview, you're asked a bunch of questions?

Same idea. It shows how prepared you were, whether you have good advisors, whether or not you need a diaper change.

Which leads me...I really want Harris, at some point in the middle of the debate, hold her finger up to her nose, like trying to pass off that she's trying to rub it but really she's blocking her nasal passages. And then in the middle of her turn say, "Oh God. I'm sorry but there is just an awful smell. Can we break for a minute and check it out? I'm worried it might be a gas leak or something."

I'm fairly sure "All Too Well" is about her breakup with the CIA.

I've been on a low fodmap diet for a while. This is a really broad question without some parameters but I'll give it a go.

It also depends on what the goal of the low fodmap is (e.g. weight loss, diabetic control, etc.)

That said:

  • a quick and easy way is to assume all processed carbs are out. This isn't 100% true across the board but helps you draw a line somewhere. Processed carbs being things like bread, candy bars, pasta, etc.
  • nuts like walnuts and peanuts are great snacks
  • eggs for breakfast or if you want something more filling you can do oatmeal with some oatmilk. Not regular milk
  • for meals, do whole foods like a chicken thigh with some peppers or a lean steak with spinach
  • since you love potatoes, a great trick is to make a ton of roasted cut potatoes and put them in a container. Add them to dishes as you see fit. Even though I don't do low FODMAP, I still do this

I'm just waiting for Musk to sue all people on earth for either not having an account or for abandoning their account on Twitter.

It's easy to say that behind a screen but as someone who has been threatened by MAGAs, it's no picnic. And I have guns.

This is the problem with our current justice system. We have a chilling effect on bringing real consequences to these assholes because their acolytes will threaten if not beat you for going against their Dear Leader.

What we should be doing, instead of blaming this one soldier, is to tell Congress to pass judicial reform to make these kinds of threats punishable by the same minimum sentencing laws that we use for drugs.

Congrats! But any bureaucracy is terrible. Glad you got it all sorted though.

Hopefully your checkup is uneventful

This time seems to be better than last time. Thanks though!

Honestly, flight attendants should claw as much as they can.

I don't think they get paid until the cabin doors close, right? So all the work they do leading up to the plane taking off, that's free work.

It's such a rip off.

I got COVID so I have that going for me.

On the other hand, I'm speed rewatching a ton of shows. Almost done with Breaking Bad and Community. Next on my list is 30 Rock.

Fuck it. This is going back on my rewatch list while I have COVID.

I don't care if I get better.

Unions aren't the ones that are making qualified immunity a thing. It certainly helps their recruiting.

It's the courts and, to a greater extent, the cities that hire them, that have allowed it to go on.

100% this.

Coffee is very person dependent. Some people like the taste of coffee while others like the taste of milk and sugar.

Some people love it burnt while others like it bold.

I've been refining my way of making coffee for years, making small adjustments for what makes sense for me.

Learn the basics, iterate from there. Don't be afraid of a bad cup of coffee because you've just learned how to make the next one better.
