There is so much lore behind Community and Chevy Chase. My understanding is that Community was supposed to be his show, where he was the good guy and was the main protagonist, not Joel McHale. (You sort of see hints of this in the gas leak year.)

As the series went on, it was clear that Chevy was annoyed about their long hours, shooting schedules, etc. TBF to Chevy, Dan Harmon made every episode into a movie that required a lot of shots, something that made him disliked by network executives. It's why he got fired over Chevy in season 4.

What every executive failed to realize is that these "movies" were absolutely awesome and that's why the fans love the show. They were smart, funny, and gave you a sense that they weren't taking things seriously.

In the end, the show was better without Chevy.

This comes up a lot. While Swift might not be able to control concert ticket prices as a whole, she certainly has the influence to make it better. She's a literal billionaire with a very devout following.

If anyone could hold a concert at a non-ticketmaster venue, it's her.

If anyone could pay her staff quintuple the going rate, it's her.

If anyone could lobby cities that hold her concerts accountable for how they treat homeless people, it's her.

I love Taylor Swift as much as the next person, but she has blood on her hands just like every billionaire. She may be one of the "good" ones but if anyone could afford to do better, it's her.

You're on lemmy.world, which defederates faster than other instances.

I left .world a while back. Even with NSFW turned off I still have good content.

I have 6-hour top as my default sort.

Politicians but especially rich people seem to forget that when we have nothing to lose, that's when revolutions happen.

JFK's quote has been ringing in my head since all this has happened: Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.

These assholes have stacked our government against us. Sure we have some good eggs but the level of progress especially in the last 20 years has slowed to a crawl.

FYI: if the insurance company is publicly traded, CEO information is available through their prospectus. Call their investor line and ask for one.

By law, they must have this information public.

For Minecraft. Obviously.

What?! How?! So I can learn to avoid it!

I remember the cast of Friends wanted to stop after season 8 I think.

Then they got offered $1 million per episode along with residuals.

It's not just corporations that want to keep things going. The actors actually "unionized" (so they all got paid the same amount) and agreed that they wouldn't continue the show unless they all wanted to.

How I Met Your Mother got to the point that Jason Segal wanted to leave. The last season was just awful and you could tell that he was phoning it in.

Exactly. Republicans will just push for more funding for police officers.

Even if they earned it ethically, they literally can't spend this much money. They can't spend the money fast enough.

They hold on to this much money to keep score.
