Conservatives like to believe that they are the heroes of the story. Where they are the paragons of virtue but in reality, they want to control and oppress people. That's it.
For conservatives, they can't win unless someone else loses. So if they see immigrants and trans people getting rights, they see it as they (conservatives) are losing rights.

The post-mortem is still being done but there are real issues that voters had that are important that the DNC address.
The numbers seem to indicate voters simply did not turn out, not that voters changed their vote to Trump.
They are also to blame, yes, but the real issue is that the DNC fails to learn the right lesson from election losses. And this one was a doozy. We'll be lucky if we get another election.
If we do, I can guarantee you we'll have another right of center candidate that smiles and nods at workers rights while getting absolutely smashed by corporate interests.
And we'll be here again, begging people to vote for the better of two candidates because this election is more important than the last. All the while Republicans continue to shit out turd candidates.
I'm here hoping to any god that is watching that Project 2025 becomes something like a dog catching the car situation. The Republicans are the dogs and now they are arguing amongst themselves what to do with the car.
I'm planning as if Project 2025 goes forward. If civil war is in my lifetime, the shots will start with the alt-right.

We will have an anti-vaxer running the CDC, a supplement pushing hack running Medicare, and a man who overpaid for Twitter running the fucking "Department of Government Efficacy."
