My pixel has what's called a "private" profile. It allows you to tie a different Google account to the apps downloaded to that profile.

So I would install the CVS app on that profile, find public credentials for the app (or create one with and then publish them). Use the app to unlock the shelf. Leave it open or unshelf everything.

Or just don't shop there.

Return to tradition is not the whole story.

For conservatives, power is wielded or power is seceded. In a government that you don't trust, that's forcing you to drink pasteurized milk, the idea of raw milk is kind of that "the government is hiding something from us" and not "the government is protecting us". While there is some overlap between "the government can't be trusted with milk" with "the government can be trusted with immigrants", for the most part they aren't necessarily the same people but they are cut from the same cloth.

They don't want the government to control them. The government controls other people.

It's why people like RFK are so dangerous because he now has the power to remove many of the safety nets we have grown accustomed to. Instead of Trump's first term where COVID was downplayed, we won't even test for avian flu. We won't even research cures.

Not only that, given the sheer kowtowing media outlets are doing we likely will have challenges reading outbreaks in other countries.

This is not an exaggeration. We are in fascism today.

It's too early in the morning for me to look this up but I bet his worth is more than most of the EU member's GDP.

Sanctions on him individually as well as anything he owns. Bar him from entry, tax the living shit out of any of his properties including any assets he has in the EU.

Essentially, this is a wrapper around YouTube. So like newpipe, but with a music focus and I imagine a metadata library like musicbrainz.

Can someone ELI5 the difference between Usenet and torrents? From a pirating standpoint anyway.

From a protocol standpoint, my understanding is that downloading from Usenet is no different than downloading from a website, eg you download the file from one server vs the data being sharded across multiple peers.

The level of effort to move to mastodon is not that much more than moving the bluesky. I agree not letting perfect be the enemy of good but this is a situation where they could have done something substantially better with only slightly more effort.

Am I glad they left Twitter? Sure.

Is there anything wrong with bluesky? Not right now.

Even if they moved to a managed mastodon instance, it would have been better.

I was curious about the reasons why people would vote against the measure, so thank you for providing it. I don't think "being able to provide a source" is a good enough reason not to vote against it since methods to do so are provided, even without the changes that the admins made.

I mean "argument" as in "what is your reasoning", like in a debate. That's how we learn and how we grow as a society, by debating weighing the pros and cons of why you have a belief.

Not everything is a disagreement, per se, but healthy debates are necessary to ensure voices are heard and accommodations made.

In the original thread, I offered arguments why screenshots should be okay. Hell in this post, I made a counter argument that in rare instances twitter links should be allowed. But I didn't only say "twitter links should be allowed". I provided an argument/reason as to why in certain cases it should be allowed.

Your first two points are allowed though.

Screenshots are permitted as well as one alternative front end.

The rule doesn't bar you from putting a twitter link in the comments or as part of the post body.

That said what is your argument exactly?
