I’m saving this one for later today when I have time, but came here to say - when I visited Toronto I was struck by how bad the streetcars were. The way they’re done is like busses, except they can’t detour because rails, and they block two lanes of traffic at many stops because they run in the middle two lanes. So they’re held up by car traffic and traffic signals, and themselves contribute to car traffic by blocking the road. And they allow parking in the outside lanes. It’s a bad system. They should give the trams dedicated space. Take the cars out, put in a bike lane and give the trams space.

But isn’t this the city that’s ripping out bike lanes

A balloon full of helium has more mass than a balloon without helium, but less weight https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_versus_weight.

~~Methane weighs more than nitrogen (70% of atmosphere); you lose weight and mass. Molar mass of nitrogen 7; methane 16. ~~

Edited to comment about mass: Except that a) methane is leaving the body and is not necessarily being replaced; the volume is simply taken up by a contracting colon and b) methane may be less dense than air, but it does contain fecal particles as well, which are tiny but still heavier than air.

Private, just like Onavo?

Crew? Naw. They drive their own rigs.

But someone who has a poor understanding of birth control because god said so, yes.

Remember forums? They were amazing sources of information. They’re falling offline, because Reddit and discord. Now reddit and discord are enshittifying. I hope that redacting posts like that helps bring visibility to normal people, but I fear it’s not. Especially because ai scraped it already.

I think that was meant to reply to @7U5K3N@lemmy.dbzer0.com , not me. Helpful tips!

It takes a while to dial in the technique and what works in one oven doesn’t work in the next one, I found.

Make it on a peel.

Make your own dough. It’s easy. It doesn’t have any special ingredients or equipment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IWsV-8jSmI

I thought the principle of using cast iron is that it goes into the oven until it’s screaming hot, and then you drop the pizza in?

Either weld a flange on (make sure the angles are matching) or cut it off and make it slip.

Risk assessment is a big part of this. Risk when reusing passwords is very high. Risk of forgetting passwords or using weaker/guessable passwords when they’re unique, is high. Password manager mitigates these risks. A good one will also bark at you when you try to use a password in a website that isn’t the one you saved it in (ie phishing warning)

The risk of your PW manager somehow leaking passwords is worth considering. So we ask: How are the passwords stored? Where are they stored? How are they accessed? Different tools work differently; some keep the storage local but others sync in the cloud. Local storage can also mean “in my Dropbox folder”. If it’s a secure format with a strong password (or perhaps Yubikey), that’s fine, but if it’s an excel sheet, you’re leaking to Dropbox. But is that really a problem for you? Think of the steps between an adversary and your password file.

1Password has some white papers published about how they secure the data you entrust them with.

It is my strong opinion, and that of most security experts, that using a password manager to create unique, long, and secure passwords is a lot better than the alternative. It’s usually the opinion that a password notebook in a reasonably secure location (in your desk at home) is better than recycling weak passwords.
