I’ve had holes in my wall from some electrical diy work since 2019.

It’s getting fixed this week.

Fuck, I hate plastering. Actually, I hate detailed finish work. I’m cut out to be a plumber or electrician, none of this fancy shit.

I am not defending musk, but on behalf of the excellent engineers space x employs, is there any other company that is even close to the capability SpaceX currently has?

Also, let’s set aside the wisdom of this ridiculous idea for the purposes of discussion

£500 fine and they’re on their way.

We’re not growing trees like this anymore. Globally, we need to protect these ancient specimens.

It’s like a diary, except it stores far more information. A diary, a complete log of all correspondence, a Rolodex, photo albums - the list goes on.

I have heard this before. He’s got a bizarre eugenics fetish and thinks that more billionaires need to have more kids because they’re billionaires have superior genes as evidenced by being billionaires. Fucking weird.

Because what North America needs is easier access to drivers licenses.

Well, when you know you’re sitting on ~60kw of battery, it’s a bummer. The reverse feed system some cars have is promising though.

As an example, https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2025/03/old-bolt-new-tricks-making-an-ev-into-a-backup-power-station-with-an-inverter/

12vdc for a Chevy bolt, with the caveat that it maxes at 1500w so only use a 1000w inverter.

It’s not a great way to do it, but it does work.

Cool. I’m looking forward to the new and creative way that Chevy will take a successful product like the Bolt and fuck it up.

It doesn’t make sense. Canada can’t really join Schengen and I’m not sure it’s a good idea to further fragment the Euro (Canada’s so different than the existing eurozone countries that it needs its own currency and the Euro already had crises with Greece and all that).

But an extension of the existing free trade agreement would be excellent.

Entirely agree with that. Except to add that so is Dario Amodei.

I think it’s got potential, but the cost and the accuracy are two pieces that need to be addressed. DeepSeek is headed in the right direction, only because they didn’t have the insane dollars that Microsoft and Google throw at OpenAI and Anthropic respectively.

Even with massive efficiency gains, though, the hardware market is going to do well if we’re all running local models!
