Soap is easy and it’s probably got less microplastics than the compost.

Ten stories is usually above most insects, so I bet if you successfully interrupt the reproductive cycle they won’t be back. They probably came in on one of the plants or soil.

Given the USSR’s proclivity towards handing out endocrine disrupting drugs to athletes over the last 50 years, I’m gonna go with “that’s the least of their concern”.

Someday I’m gonna do a spruce tip Sahti but I missed the window. I’ve been busy, and I’ve got a backlog of beer. Either it’s too much or too little somehow.

It is still a subsidiary of Unilever.

March 2025, Ben & Jerry’s filed a complaint in federal court against parent company Unilever, accusing them of firing C.E.O. David Stever because he had allowed Ben & Jerry's to express their sociopolitical beliefs publicly.

It is more specific to radiant (water/steam/in-floor) solutions though, as that is very slow to adjust

The wheel well cover is one thing (and they’re usually held in by clips, not bolts) but that “severe test” was the real comedy. I’ve done that in a compact hatchback with less damage.

In 2014, a German pensioner was ordered to take down her home because it had been built in 1939 without planning permission, due to the chaos of the Second World War breaking out.

This is some level of stupid.

I think some of lionization may have roots in the need to recognize and legitimize those professions as a prerequisite for unionization, and to recognize post hoc the men and women who struggled to unionize and get respect in the form of reasonable working conditions and pay.

Coal mining has almost never been enough to support a family, though it was regular work. Regular work is a thing of the past in Appalachia.
